I think it's not actually beneficial in most circumstances to have the largest nuke possible. A lot of smaller nukes that can fit in the same missile seems to make more strategic sense.

Agreed, it is pointless to go with the bigger is better approach. The enviornmental devastation and rebuilding would take hundreds of years to recover alone.

Nukes in that range are actually useful in that they are pretty clean. The blast is so large the majority of the material that would become nuclear fallout reaches so high up into the atmosphere that it just disperses globally causing next to no harm.

yep. since the cloud is so large and high, it'll travel very far. and it the rumors are true that it's salted, then oof. depending on the isotope used, it could be intensely radioactive for short-term or moderately radioactive long-term.

i just use cheap chinese ones. they work well enough.

that scale isn't accurate. Tsar Bomba was 3333 times the size of Hiroshima. just to let that sink in. Licorne (1meg) was 50x larger than Littleboy Hiroshima.
there is a better chart showing how micro size Hiroshima was compared to Tsar Bomba. which had a radias of 35 fucking miles. Hiroshima was close to a half a mile radius. but the kill radias of Hiroshima was closer to three miles.
Tsar bomba blew windows out 500 miles away in Finland and hear 1200 miles away. the fireball was also seen in Finland 500 miles away.
it was so fucking massive it rang meters 3 times circling the earth

This. When you do the math you find out that all the nukes in the world detonated together will propulse a tiny fraction of what the biggest recorded volcanic eruption did early XIXth century, and that one ended up being a nothingburger.
In fact the "end of the world" scenario of full nuke exchange is complete BS, and once the first nukes fly (likely Israel nuking Iran) and people realise they're underwhelming, it will be the end of a taboo and more of them will fly.

It's too much of a liability to keep something that destructive around. I wouldn't be surprised if quantum physics says there's a nonzero chance that a nuclear warhead could spontaneously self-destruct at any given moment. Only in Russia with its ridiculous empty expanses would it make sense to keep something like that around.

Most are kept underground in heavily reinforced bunkers and silos, so the damage and blast radius goes down dramatically.

Industrial dosimeters are designed to find very small leaks of radioactivity long before they become a major health concern.
Good for testing food, bad for trying to figure out which direction you should go at a fork in the road.
You should look at the UPPER level as well as the lower level. Once it saturates, it becomes useless for helping you make split second decisions.

>>508935453
It's not a secret at all. It had like 30 stages, each one serving as an igniter (fission) or booster (fusion) for the previous/next stage. In the test the last 10 stages or so were with "dummy" materials.
It really wasn't that useful. For most scenarios, it would be more efficient to make 20 smaller nukes from the material used to make one Tsar Bomb. With bigger bombs, you're just making a deeper crater in the ground, for a few hundred extra meters radius of destruction.

>>508935614
Still not useful. 1/3 of the blast goes into the ground, and 1/3 goes into the air, and most everything over 5 PSI is overkill for most situations.
You would get MORE explosive power, over a larger area with many smaller nukes detonating apart.

They have nukes speculated to be double or so the yield of the Tsar Bomba. Those nukes are aboard unmanned submarine drones, nuclear-powered, which coast around the ocean for a period of months.
People were butthurt when they built them because they are overpowered.
The idea is that they explode on the shoreline of an enemy nation, and the water vapor which is generated and falls on the land will be contaminated with radioactive material from the explosion, making a large area unsafe for humans.

Those of you itt who don’t understand just how easy it is for corrupt governments and powerful institutions/entities to propagandize entire societies should watch this immediately:
>Meet Edward Bernays, Master of Propaganda:

…And thats just the tip of the ice(((berg))). If you approach the rabbithole with a mentality of genuine interest in learning the truth about this reality and your place in it, (you) will inevitably arrive at the topic of flat earth.

Protip: every single answer to literally any and all flat earth related questions you may have can be found in this pastebin:

You can also use the 4plebs search function to find FE posts made in the past

for those itt who are unaware:
space is fake and gay, the magical spinning cartoon ball earth is fake and gay. we literally live in God's snow globe and every decision (you) make has immense meaning and significance. change your ways and start living correctly. dont fall for the nihilism meme and dont fall for any of the religion memes. you can look at life as either a test or a game but whatever you do, dont look at it as meaningless. BE A GOOD PERSON AND LIVE BY THE GOLDEN RULE ALWAYS! also stop jerking off you pathetic littel squirtboys; your life will drastically improve when abstaining from degeneracy.

The world is owned and controlled by a small handful of literal satanists, eugenicists and psychopaths. They want to bring suffering, misery and death upon humanity. Above all else they want your soul. They will do anything and everything in their power to convince (you) to become materialistic and nihilistic so that you become easy to control and manipulate (thats the primary objective of the heliocentric model). If youre convinced there is no metaphysical nature to reality, it is easier for them to convince you to sin and commit atrocities for them. Who cares? Huge nukes like the tsar bomba aren't effective as weapons for destroying shit on the ground. Something like 95% of the destructive power goes up into the atmosphere and is wasted.
It's far more effective to shotgun the same area with a bunch of smaller nukes.

No they don't. All the intel on Status-6 point to a 20 kt warhead, while substantial its not going to annihilate whatever harbour it is detonated in, because the water is going to absorb a massive amount of the heat and shockwave and diffuse it. I
Status-6 also makes no sense at all as a weapon system. It's useless for second strike, retaliation, and can only really be used as a shitty first strike weapon while there is plenty of civilian traffic to mask its sonar signature.

Tsar bomba was basically a publicity stunt, the last escalation in the contest of who could build the biggest nuke. But it's not economical or practical. Think about it this way: you could build a tank the size of a house if you really wanted to, but would it really be better than 10 normal tanks?

Germany was way, way behind in nuclear weapons tech.
They spent basically nothing on nukes compared to the allies. They judged that it'd take too long.
They spent their money on missiles/rockets and gained a lead in that tech, as well as jets and the like, but it wasn't enough.
A really interesting situation would have been to see a nuke dropped on Germany, and if they would respond by using their biological and chemical weapons.

That's not really true. The huge nukes were a reply to the belief of heavy air defense making bombing even huge targets like cities hard. The wild inaccuracies of early ballistic missiles not being able to get hits on target within ranges of 10s of km.

A 50MT nuke doesn't really need to be even close to it's target to be effective and clearing the way for more accurate follow on attacks.

As missiles improved in accuracy the warheads could be reduced in size to better match the expected performance. Letting more more nuclear weapons be made engage more targets.

Smaller bombs with much lower yields are more destructive when spread out. The material cost of nuclear material of one large bomb does more damage when made into many smaller bombs, if you can successfully strike smaller targets.

Only one was ever built for a reason. A bomb with the yield of a few megatons will destroy pretty much any major city, nuking it extra hard with 100mt isn't going to make the people there more dead. With the same resources, you can make multiple weapons and adequately destroy multiple cities instead. If the bomber carrying your tsar bomba gets shot down, or it's shitty rockets blows up on the launch pad the materiel loss is far higher for you too. And let's say you do somehow manage to afford and field an entire arsenal of tsar bombas. If you use them, the best case scenario is you've just covered the whole planet with fallout. None of this makes any sense in the calculus of war. You can build one giant mega-tank that tanks harder than normal tanks and is super cool but gets stuck everywhere, or you can build 10 perfectly adequate tanks that actually have practical value.

Old effort post I repost sometimes:
being in a basement reduces gamma exposure by something like 83% since you’ve reduced exposure to only one direction. 6 inches of exposed concrete overhead would reduce that remaining 17% to like 4%, add a metal or wooden roof over that and you’re looking at around 1-2% exposure. And that’s assuming there even is fallout where you’re at.
https://modernsurvivalblog.com/nuclear/nuclear-radiation-shielding-protection/
Keep in mind that a ground burst would only be used on hardened targets (military bases, government buildings, etc) and ground bursts are the only thing that would cause fallout. Most strikes would be airburst due to it being cleaner and causing more damage due to a larger splash.

https://www.acq.osd.mil/ncbdp/nm/NMHB2020rev/chapters/chapter13.html
Also bear in mind that after like 48 hours it will be significantly less radioactive. So assuming you don’t live near a military base and the wind speed is like 8mph or something, how many hours would it take for fallout to arrive at your house? I figure I’d have about 48 hours.
https://www.britannica.com/technology/nuclear-weapon/Residual-radiation-and-fallout

https://remm.hhs.gov/nuclearfallout.htm

Fallout falls in an oval shape towards the prevailing wind and is only a really major risk during the first 48 hours or so and about 6-10 miles out from blast, everything going beyond that 6-10 mile range is only going to increase cancer rates by <1%, after 2 weeks it won’t even matter at all. They’ve done quite a few ground burst tests that launched fallout in NM and nobody died from fallout there, but there was an increase in cancer and other things, not the end of the world though.

Nukes are grug cope weapons. The future of war is drones, nanobots, chemical/biological weapons that target your enemy combattants and leave the infrastructure intact.

Rebuilding roads, bridges and houses is energy intensive, and fossil fuels are no longer as cheap and abundant as 50 years ago. When you conquer some shithole, you want to extract slave labour for your people's benefit, not spend trillions rebuilding their infrastructure.

Nuclear winter is also a meme, they burned multiple cities creating more particulate than a nuke during ww2 with no environmental impact. Even a minor volcanic eruption produces more atmospheric particulate than every city being nukes simultaneously.
Think about it, every year in california more area of forests burn than area of city would burn in a nuclear engagement.

EMP attack is also a meme, the area effected by EMP burst would be smaller than everyone thinks and wouldn’t damage much, they’ve done multiple atmospheric tests in the past with no recorded issues with EMP.

Both, probably. There's still a use case for 10mt, but they would have understood diminishing returns you get with higher yields. ICBM technology wasn't mature but they would have understood that it would improve. Both sides wanted to have the biggest bomb beyond what was practical or necessary. You could argue that the space race was an extension of this.

>>508949172
I accept your gracious concession.

>>508949244
Yeah 50mt does more damage but it's damage you don't need to do. If you use a smaller nuke on a city most people will die within a few seconds, the leadership is dead, infrastructure is destroyed, everything that's not vaporized is on fire. Why would you want to irradiate the countryside? Nuclear components aren't cheap or easy to make, it's total overkill. If you want to disrupt supply lines there are countless other, better methods.

Think about the nuclear winter theory. They theorize that 5-150mil tons of soot and debris will block out the sun. A large portion of that is theorized to come from wildfires.
However we have had so many wildfires that it’s practically disproven nuclear winter

They’ll argue that nuclear ground burst will launch that dust into the atmosphere, but that’s the blast and not the wildfires, so it’s wrong.
The largest volcanic eruption in recent history was mount Tambora in 1815, it launched around 100mil tons of debris into the upper atmosphere. No nuclear winter then.
If you look at the trinity tests and how far fallout actually travels, and the effects of that fallout, you can see the danger is greatly overstated.

Now I’m not for using nuclear weapons, I think a nuclear war would destroy the modern world, but I don’t think everyone would necessarily die. I do however want to point out that caliwali is so poorly managed it has almost single handedly disproven the nuclear winter wildfire hypothesis.

>The text of the General Advisory Committee report with its majority and minority annexes remained secret until 1974, but the general drift of its argument became publicly known in 1950 after President Truman had announced that work on the development of a hydrogen bomb would be continued. In the public statements as well as in the secret debates of the early 1950s, the phrase "unlimited destructive power" constantly recurs. The peculiar horror of the hydrogen bomb was seen to be the fact that its cost would be almost independent of its size. Once you had built a workable bomb, you could increase its destructive power without limit by adding deuterium fuel, which would cost about sixty cents a kiloton at 1950 prices. The cost of adding the equivalent of another Hiroshima to the destructive power of a hydrogen bomb would be only about ten dollars.

They can make it 10x bigger there is basically no limit on how powerful a fusion bomb is. The problem is about weight because at certain treshold the bombs becomes stationary as there are no rockets or planes that are able to deliver it to the enemy.

I think that would have just ended Europe, really. All European countries in 1939 had vast stockpiles of chemical weapons - one using them with abandon would result in others using them. Death by nuclear hellfire and chemical warfare seems preferable to being invaded by Africans though, so who knows.

the problem is it is science fiction
the other problem is it is completely uneccesary. carpet bombing works just as well. if the want to murder a million people. chemical weapons work just as well. if no one i willing to use any of these weapons, they effectively do not exist. so even if you believe in nukes, its complete waste to think about them at all. nukes will never be used.

Fallout as well.
With massive nukes the uncontrolled criticality can lead to inefficient conversions from radioactivity to explosive heat.
Smaller nukes have less fallout since there's less chance of inefficient conversion, besides being smaller.
Airburst remains a must ofc.

One of the first points they make is that those atom bomb tests were fake because they claim a camera to film it would be destroyed.

The US Military explained in that original film that the camera was housed in a lead casing, a small slit made for the lens, and fortified with reinforced steel that dug 100ft down into the ground. They made sure that it would survive the process.

After that dumb take I couldn't bear to watch anymore

Yes. The promise of the government having a magical god-like weapon prevents insurrections, it helps histrionic discourse like TDS ("Drumpf is going to press the big red button of the apocalypse any minute now!"), and it persuades stupid goyim to go to or at least approve wars with any country in the world by accusing them of developing this magical weapon, it's what happened with Iraq and what's happening with Iran today.

Without the idea of nukes, governments seem a lot weaker as they are in reality, and wars thousands of kilometers from you cannot be justified.

You don't read much scientific literature. The amount of top-level scientists who worked for the Manhattan Project or adjacent programs vastly overwhelms the number who worked for the German effort.
Heisenberg was legit S-tier physicist, but the next generation of elite physicists were centred in the US, and several of them, like Feynman and Dyson, were involved in the Manhattan Project. Meanwhile you cannot name any significant young physicist involved in the Uranium Club of the Germans.
According to Wikipedia, when asked, the German scientists themselves predicted the US would be capable of nuke production in a few years' time.

>but some fraudulent jews in the US managed to do it in 45
The US had pretty much unlimited resources, any number of scientists from all over the Anglosphere, and factories and facilities which couldn't be bombed.
I don't even think nukes are that hard to make. The only reason why there are not way more countries possessing them is because the NPT puts great effort into stopping them being developed.

Big bombs are impractical. For one, carrying them makes you a massive radar target. Secondly, the damage doesn't scale linearly and drops off quite quickly.
>A larger yield leads to a greater radius of damage, but not proportionally larger. For example, a 10-fold increase in yield results in only a little over a two-fold increase in the radius of destruction. The volume of destruction, which is related to the cube of the radius, increases much faster than the radius itself.
That is why militaries generally go with a lot of smaller yield bombs.

If you can name a single science that works without testing, I'd believe it. Otherwise all 'improvement' to nukes past 1961 is purely theoretical. And if they won't show the proof then they're expecting the public to take it on faith.

Here's the real question. What was the deal with MacArthur then? Why did he get fired for suggesting we use them?
Was he calling it the lie?
Did he not know?
Are they real and just not as powerful as claimed?
Is it all kayfabe? General Doug goes out on a heel turn?
Yes, Korea not Nam, but it's a valid point.

Exactly, science is verifiable, falsifiable, and repeatable. I hate it when people say "I'm no scientist" like it's some kind of priesthood or ethnicity. If you have logs and a control group you're a scientist. If you don't, you aren't no matter who gave you a degree.

nukes are the fakest&gayest shit invented by jewish imagination. do you really think israel, the nation that has been indiscrimanately massacring civilians in gaza, would not turn iran into a crater if they really felt threatened by its existence?? they don't do that because they can't. it's a hoax of the foundational myth of jewish power
1. the holocaust
2. the nuclear bomb
both made up to keep people under control in fear.

I bet you believe that mainstream science credits only Einstein with special relativity and totally disregards people like Lorentz and Poincaré; and you probably also believe that Einstein stole general relativity from a patent office and was beaten to it anyhow by Hilbert. Both wrong.

Anyone who can tell you with a straight face it’s either 100% real and will cause the extinction of humanity or that it is complete fiction cooked up by hippie scientists either doesn’t know what they’re talking about or are intentionally lying to you. It depends on a ton of factors, and we don’t really have a good test study to compare it to because the last time we detonated a nuke above a city was in Nagasaki. I’m suspicious the previously linked video given that it was a collab with the RAND corporation.

Basically, many hundreds if not thousands of cities are hit with nukes, which makes multiple firestorms, which form clouds that send black carbon (soot) from the fires into the stratosphere where they can’t be washed out and where they block sunlight and spread all over the earth. A bunch of firestorms all within a single or 2 days at most collectively send a ton of soot into the stratosphere, which causes a huge decline in temperature and sunlight while at the same time hearing up the atmosphere itself and tearing up the ozone layer. The basics of it are, as far as we know, correct, as we have forest fires to compare it to, and we know that ash and smoke get thrown into the stratosphere-but we don’t have a good model for how much soot would get thrown into the stratosphere from a firestorm in a modern city. You’ll see arguments like “well huge forest fires don’t cause cooling and what they send into the stratosphere falls back within months”, which is true, but forest fires don’t send black carbon up, they send regular ash particles, which don’t absorb sunlight, are more susceptible to gravitational pull which forces them down and, most, crucially, as they don’t absorb sunlight, ash doesn’t heat itself up so the air around it remains quite dense and prevents it from lofting itself up, while soot, which absorbs sunlight, does the opposite.

Tsar Bomba was literally a 1 time test. It was never a fielded weapon. It was a test done in the early 60's to just scare the west that the Russians were capable of making such a large nuclear device. Their largest fielded warhead was 1/4 of what the Tsar Bomba was capable of doing and that has largely been decomissioned. In the 60's high yields were sought because they had very poor accuracy. So you'd need to dump 10-20 megatons worth of explosion in a general vicinity to destroy a specific target with certainty. But now they can get missiles accurate to within a meter or two and they don't need multi-megaton devices anymore, something a few hundred kt will suffice, and they prefer to have multiple independent warheads on one missile, being capable of doing far more damage overall than just 1 big fireball.

If you read textbooks about special relativity, you'll see Einstein credited with putting the finishing touches on a theory that was 90% worked out. However, Einstein's contributions were vital, given that they do away with the aether.
Einstein worked out the ideas behind general relativity pretty much alone, but perhaps with a little help from the Swiss or Swiss-Jew physicist whose name I forget, and it is a much more complex idea than special relativity. He announced his theory and in the next few months himself and Hilbert - the greatest mathematician of the era - raced to see who could finalise the differential equations behind the theory first. No one knows for sure who got there first, but in my shallow opinion they both pretty much got there at the same time. A Brit named William Clifford had a vague conception of describing gravity using non-Euclidean equations, but I'm sure it cannot have been anywhere near as detailed or complete as Einstein's work. Christopher Jon Bjerknes has written a book accusing Einstein of stealing general relativity, and although CJB gets a bit of respect from me for being pretty well-read on some topics, he is still a massive sperg with a deranged mind and I doubt he has debunked Einstein in any important way.

Jewish dialectic: thesis + antithesis = synthesis
Ex: holocaust is bs (it truely is bs) + nukes are fake (nukes works for real) = it contaminate the fact that the holocaust is pure bs with more nonsense unrelated to it.
The flat earth theory was used for that exact reason, same for the one about the extra-terrestrial beings kidnapping people.

Poisoning the water wells is an old jewish trick, and here they poison the wells and the sources of knowledge.
The "nukes are fake" morons never use footage from the 90s to debunk nukes, it's as if they still live in the 1940 or 1950.
Their end game argument is "unless you make a nuke yourself it's bs".

>Bombs are not tanks and you're just a retard who has no historical perspective. Tsar bomb was a heavy ICBM warhead testbed a whole DECADE before the technological advances has allowed to decrease ICBM's
Wow, love it when someone pretends to be knowledgeable on history while straight up making shit up. The Tsar Bomba was 100% a publicity stunt. It was a prototype dropped out of an airplane. It was known to be impractical when it was being built and done so only with PR and records in mind. They only built one other prototype in that range. And It had nothing to do with ICBMs either as they never planned on actually using something so impractical.

>Development of the Proton began in 1962 as a two-stage vehicle that could be used to launch large military payloads or act as a ballistic missile with a 100 megaton nuclear warhead.
>The Proton had its origin in the early 1960's, at a time when all Soviet rockets required military justification to be developed. At this time the military-political leadership formulated a requirement for a heavy rocket that could be used to launch large military payloads into space as well as act as a ballistic missile for nuclear warheads up to 100 MT in yield.
>Council of Soviet Ministers (SM) Decree 'On start of work on the UR-500 missile and carrier-rocket' was issued. The rocket was to be built initially for the GR-2 requirement - a heavy rocket that could be used to launch large military payloads into space as well as act as a ballistic missile for multiple nuclear warheads up to 100 MT in yield. The decree ordered development of this powerful new rocket to be completed within three years. This was a difficult task, considering the factory and launch facilities that would have to be built to allow testing of the rocket to begin. The draft project UR-500 was completed in 1963.
