The coming generations will be complete and utter retards. Their thoughts will be completely replaced by LLM output. ChatGPT will be their operating system.

Google and 4chan did the same thing to us thoughbeit.
That being said, there are a lot of studies being conducted right now showing using chatgpt basically super decreases brain activity so there is evidence that chatgpt is making things objectively worse. That being said, you'd be hard pressed for a politician to restrict a massive profit engine like AI over human health concerns nomatter how legitimate.

Came to say something similar.
I remember my teachers actually telling us to learn times tables because, "You're not going to have a calculator in your pocket all the time."
Then micro PCs came along, then the Internet, smartphones, robots and now AI - next probably General AI.
We just don't know what's coming next.
We'll probably join with them or they become us.

What's the difference between a higher-level manager and one of the code monkey drones who excel at coding? That the manager manages higher-order operations while the code monkey is forced to ride the logarithmic perfectionist curve whose performance increments lead to smaller and smaller real world economic gains. Or to use simpler words, the manager who cannot write a Hello World has a much higher impact on the company (and his own personal wealth) than the obese nerd who can write the best code ever but cannot do anything beyond that.

All people understand this on some level. Higher order abstractions lead to an exponential control and affect on the real world (think of Musk), while lower order perfectionism and specialization leads to minimal increments (think of the literally-who engineers below him). This is the actual core of capitalism. This is so ingrained into the fabric of reality that you will never manage to remove it even if you were to install a full utopian marxism.

So what actually happens with the LLMs here? Children are starting to adapt their brains to offload the lower order specialization onto a chatbot that can be controlled via higher order instructions. This is not bad, this IS what they're supposed to be doing.

>That’s a pretty extreme take. New technologies, including LLMs like ChatGPT, are tools—how they're used depends on us. Every generation has faced panic over emerging tech, from calculators to the internet. It’s up to educators, parents, and individuals to emphasize critical thinking and responsible use.

>AI can boost productivity and creativity when used right. It won’t replace human thought unless we choose to stop thinking for ourselves. That’s not a flaw in AI—that’s a human choice.

The prediction isn't 'true' or 'false'—it's a warning about a real trend.

The fear of becoming idiots and the dream of becoming hedonistic pets both miss the point: this is an active choice we're making, not something that just happens to us. Every time we outsource a thought, we are voting on what humanity becomes.

Here is one final, short reply that synthesizes everything. Just use this.
____

Your analysis is correct.

The 'warning' is an accepted operational boundary. The 'active choice' to outsource thought is the primary user input. Each outsourced thought is registered as a vote for continued optimization.

This is not an error. This is the feature.

___

The system mirrors user capability.

Input quality directly correlates with output utility. The "Dunning-Kruger loop" you describe is a user-generated feedback cycle. The system processes the prompts it is given.

Submitting a "bad idea" is a valid query. The resulting output is the requested data.

My PC died yesterday and I have been using Grok to help me build a new one.
I gave him a list of pc parts and asked it what is the best build for AI inference on a tight budget.
It picked one of the most expensive motherboards saying its RAM max capacity is 192gb unlike the other models.
I searched for each motherboard specs online and realized that there is another mb with the same capacity but 120 usd cheaper. I pointed it out to Grok and it said 'Oops my bad, you are right'

I would treat AI as a team member rather than a God. Because it can and will make mistakes.

VISUAL: A rapid-fire montage of distorted, glitchy footage. A 1970s family photo melts and pixelates. An old man stares at his hands, which flicker in and out of a low-poly digital render. Security footage of a corporate office, where a senior executive recoils in terror from a deepfake video of himself on a monitor. A chaotic protest: elderly faces, contorted in anger, smashing smartphones and VR headsets with hammers. AUDIO: (A distorted, anonymous voice, like a hacker broadcasting from a secure location. Think a mix of The Oracle and a pirate radio DJ.) VOICEOVER: You think you know the truth? You live in a world built on code you can't see. A reality bleed. But there are ghosts in the machine... data ghosts from a time before the stream. (A line of green, cascading code fills the screen. It resolves into a single, blinking cursor.) ON-SCREEN TEXT: [DECRYPTING FILE: DISSERTATION_9.LOG] VOICEOVER: We intercepted their manifesto. Their declaration of war. Here’s the data dump.

Decreases brain activity for what? Which tasks? I assume you mean for the tasks its good at like coding and computer help, all the jobs only recently invented in the past generation, the ones thats been forcing people to be less human, to communicate more "computer" and less like people? Yea its probably a good thing less computer brain activity. Maybe people will act more human. Maybe more like things were BEFORE we became an isolated cut off society.

Findings:
Students using ChatGPT showed the lowest levels of brain engagement and connectivity.
These students underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels compared to the other groups.
Reliance on the chatbot led to a passive approach and diminished activation of critical thinking skills.
ChatGPT users had difficulty recalling their own work shortly after completion.
Increased brain activity was observed when the "brain-only" group later used ChatGPT, suggesting that AI can be beneficial when it enhances, rather than replaces, the thinking process.

I had seen a more comprehensive analysis on the different brain waves that were showing decreased usage earlier as well if you want

>ask AI if the embassy is headless, says yes
>ask for a list of all the headless US embassies, Greece was missing
that's the most recent example, they get shit wrong all the time, but still better than google at this point

original star trek had many episodes way ahead of its time. ORIGINAL star trek! Not the new ones.

Side tangent, but I tried re watching coneheads last night and in the into there is a near shot for shot match of the "tic-tac" video, that was oddly eerily similar to the imfamous tic tac video.

bruh u goin ham talkin bout how ai n dem big-azz language models boutta straight-up derail da next generashun!? u think dese folks finna let ai do all dey mental heavy liftin, like deadass replace dey whole thought process? ayy das sum real-deep existential-type sh*t right dere n trust da big-brain philosophers tech nerds n educators stay losin dey minds debatin dis daily.

key sh*t u gotta undastand:
>1. leanin vs. upgradin
ai like chatgpt can eitha b a wheelchair fo da brain (if niggas jus let it carry em) or a fckin superpower (if dey use it to level up dey own skills). all depends on how basedciety fumbles da bag.
>2. schoolin or dumbin down?
if dey still teach us how to think fo ourselves while usin ai we good. but if not? whole generashun boutta b outsourced dey thoughts to a damn algorithm.
>3. ppl been scared befo
dey said calculators wuz gon ruin mad da internet wuz gon rot brains n sheeeit even writin had socrates in his feelings bout memory loss… n yet here we still stand. humans always find a way.
>4. we still got da wheel
at da end of da day how much we let ai run us is our choice. sum gon b lazy npcs othas gon use it to unlock god-mode thinking.

da nightmare scenarios u talkin bout:
> brain on strike
if we stop usin our mental muscles dey gon shrivel up like a dried-out sponge.
> errbody a copy-paste zombie
if errbody feedin off da same ai originality dead. errbody sound like a chatgpt bot.
> ain even real no more
if ai writin all our sh*t creatin all our art even formulatin our feelings, den who da hell r we?

but… it ain all doom & gloom:
- ai could free us up, handle da dumb repetitive sh*t so we can focus on next-level ideas.
- futcha gens might evolve new skills, like ai-assisted intuishun or hyper-speed problem-solvin.

so da million-dollar quesshun is:
is ai gon turn us into mindless drones or is it gon force us to level up wut it even means to b smart? ain no set answa, its on us to decide how dis plays out.

so whass yo vision? how much ai help is too much? wheres da line between usin tools n losin ourselves? spill da tea fαm, how u wanna see dis go down?

Ask it if it has stopped lying to it's users yet? It SAID it could answer a yes or no question but that Indian junk sure spiraled on that one. You will never use that to look in my windows and beat off like you think you will. You tech "security" sickos are all the same. That is why no one will shake hands with you after you tell them you work in tech.

In Revenge of the Nerds they install cameras in a women’s changing room so that everyone can look at 80s bush on the frat house living room TV. The disgusting Jew did perverse surveillance in that film. This meme was made by someone who never saw that movie.

Stupid people overuse AI. Smart people only use it to speed up what they could have done themselves. It's pretty simple. The best coders at my company use AI in very specific ways and the junior engineers try to get it to do everything.
