If huge amounts of chitin really lodged in tissues, you would want CHIT1 and AMCase active to chop it into pieces the immune system can clear. Blocking those enzymes would lengthen, not shorten, any hypothetical “chitin overload.”
Chitinase inhibition (whether by specialized drugs or by ivermectin—if it actually happened) would not “save” you; it would simply alter, or even delay, how quickly your immune system can chop up and dispose of the particles.
