there is something i notice in political discourse that I cant quite put a name to, the closest i can come up with is "convenient morality".
the thing is I'm skeptical of there being an objective morality, because it seems way too much of a coincidence that almost everyone's moral compass happens through sheer happenstance not require any sacrifice from them or require any change from them. like their moral system certainly can incur a costs on others but rarely themselves. So to me it seems less that there is an objective morality and more that people want to be be "moral" as an abstract concept to gain some sort of emotional validation so they find an set of values that require the least amount of work and sacrifice for them to follow. For instance the people advocating for the homeless generally aren't the people that actually has to deal with them, the people advocating banning porn generally are either women or men who are not single or just lost their sex drive , people advocating more restrictions on gun ownership generally do not own guns themselves or live in safe areas and so on.

Antiracist whites live in suburbs segregated by economic class, which is a convenient proxy for race.

Cities should defund all housing assistance until a massive black flight hits the suburbs like a wave of burning tar.

there is a certain irony that the kids rioting after burning down a poor black neighborhood during a BML thing or whatever woke shit they follow usually after the riot is over go back home to their own, safe affluent and not burned down neighborhoods.

There is no "objective morality". Morality is driven by our biology and animal traits combined with whatever culture has formed around the community. Most extreme example Aztecs who kept their streets clean, were experts in mathematics and building, kept their children abstinent until adulthood, had rigid traditional roles for men and women and generally promoted warrior's honor and good behaviour in their society. In a lot of ways they were very "modern" and family oriented in their values.

But then their religion involved extreme human sacrifices like tearing hearts out of prisoners, beheading, skinning, burning, drowning, anything nasty you could think of. Worst of all they tortured children to death to collect their tears in a sacrifice ritual to their rain god. Cannibalism was also a thing where the remains of the sacrifices were chopped up and sold at festivals and holiday markets. Cannibalism was named after caribbean for a reason.

You're mixing Mayan A and Mayan B.
>A evolved and got "raptured", while
>B was left behind who regressed into very vicious bunch
Most of ayylmaos in the region are Mayan A, checking out their bros.

Moral codes, taboos and dogmas, have changed and varied greatly. Sigmund Freud tells about these in his Totem and Taboo book. Great book, no matter what you think of the man.

For example, at some point in history a certain tribe had a custom where elder women would marry young boys, elder men marry young girls:
>to preserve the customs, morals, taboos etc intact in absence of written or other means to pass on the knowledge.
It was considered a sin if a young boy was with a young girl intimately as a couple.

Yes -- Mostly because they ( some) are completely ignorant on how anything works let alone the system. So they can vote to " Feel Good" , to do what the TV told them was the smart thing, and can walk away thinking that the system will just absorb their poor decision and things will carry on the same as it was .

Others ( those in charge/ power ) might have an idea on how the system works but still don't care, for any failure in the system wont effect them. So they can have the teary eyed moment of feeling good about themselves as a Judge before setting the Refugee rapist / killer free . Because it wont effect them ... he is not coming around their neighborhood . The bus he rides doesn't stop on their street , so time for "feels".

>>people advocating banning porn generally are either women or men who are not single or just lost their sex drive.

Women have no empathy for others -- that line reminded me of things back in the 1980's where feminists forced the Ontario censor board to ban any {{{ Violence against women }}} depicted in porn films or any R rated -- So old softcore grindhouse films like "Faster Pussy Cat Run Run" because of a few slaps and throwing women in to cars and implied rape . ---- Then some Lesbian book store got all their Lesbian bondage films banned and REEEEE!! - YOU HATE WOMEN !! -- all the feminists could not see the problem with ""their "" porn -- it was Good porn !! ( because it was something they liked ) unlike men's porn ( which was bad !!

Human sacrifice was a thing all around mesoamerica. Biggest child sacrifice grave found was from Chimu civilization in Peru. Chimus weren't derived from mayans, they were their rivals.

I appreciate your stance. As an oldfag, allow me this rebuttal. Sometimes what is spoken against is the same thing which wrought peril in another life. Don't make the same mistakes I did.
