I think AI has become a meta bandaid for labor problems in the USA and keeping investors cool about long term problems - it also coincided with GPU makers like nvidia which tech is one of the only industries left that the USA hasn't ruined yet - but now by nvidia shifting resources away from a legit market (gaming) to a fake one (ai datacenter) they have fucked up that company as well
