One thing about 9/11 people might have forgotten about or were too young to know is how it was talked about constantly for about 2 1/2 years afterwards, every radio talk show every news program every newspaper article everywhere you went just constantly talking about 9/11 directly or indirectly to the point I personally got to the point where I didn't want to hear about it anymore and purposely tuned out. The funny thing is I remember a very liberal Mexican American co worker of mine were talking about it around two years afterwards and we both confided to each other that we were both physically sick from hearing about it anymore. We both understood that the vast majority of Americans would have thought we were blasphemers and would have gone on the offensive against us for saying and thinking that at the time because we were outliers even two years later. It was until about Obama came around that I finally started hearing the normies start talking disrespectfully like that about 9/11.
