What the US military doesn't understand is that the German "stabbed in the back" myth works in reverse in the USA.

We have civilian control in the USA. We usually think of American citizen civilians as having rights, but in this particular case, American civilian citizens have a DUTY to control the military.
American civilians effectively stabbed the US military in the back to bring an end to the Vietnam War. Micahel Aquino then wrote MindWar bitching and moaning about how the civilians "stabbed the military in the back"
And guess what? Today, as a civilian, I can gloat about my DUTY to stab US military personnel in the back when they're insubordinate and undisciplined.
Sorry, grunt. I have to murder you when you threaten US national security. It's either me or you.
IT'S MY DUTY TO MURDER US MILITARY PERSONNEL
THAT'S WHAT THE CONSTITUTION SAYS
