Russia has functionally won in their efforts of breaking down global trade. How did they do it? By having their own oil and refineries and offering cheap prices. China was outright aligned with the US...until Russia started giving them cheap oil. The US responded by trying to leverage tariffs of all things, what this did was force more countries into buying oil from Russia, and now they're financing color revolutions as the job market collapses on itself and people are looking for something to scapegoat. Europe needs to prep for becoming Russian petrostates because you can see the anti-american surge happen right as the Ukraine conflict happened in 2014, their governments want that cheap oil badly. There isn't much the US can do either because Russia has direct pipelines and railways to transport oil, no amount of tech magic can get the world to resist cheap oil and the US can't undercut them because of shipping logistics. So I'd say Russia won, China is irrelevant and is basically turning into their colony, and the US is flat out retarded for buying into the anti-Chinese rhetoric when they've spent the past two decades financing and supporting China's rise.

China is dependent on Russia for oil and food, the US fucked itself by trying to send production to China. If the state takes over private companies in China the Russia de facto robbed the US' development investment, because China was basically run by private companies until 2016 when Russia started offering China better rates on oil and gas. It's like the US handed over all of the tech they dumped into China and put it right into the hands of Russia, the entire economy runs on oil, the price of those products don't matter like Japanese autos didn't matter they're made by automated factories and dependent on private companies providing tech. Those some companies that sold out the US and now run China are going to see Russia's rates and take the cheaper deal, they have no loyalty to anyone.

You sorely underestimate the value of food and oil, also China's supply chain was deliberately broken up, they technically don't control all of the components that go into the things they export. Particularly computers. There's factories set up from Taiwan to SK that produces parts that China can't produce, what China does mostly is assembly this is how the US managed global trade and prevented a single monopoly, but China's state has been expanding itself due to sponsorship from Russian resources. The sheer population of Chinese can easily replace the aging population of places like Japan and Korea no one would notice either since they all really do look the same. The Chinese state was crippled by this arrangement and Russia gave them a way out, maybe for a time those products had a real chance of creating dependencies in Russia, but whenever that window was it's long gone now.

China is not dependent on Russia for food at all. It's main foreign sources are Brazil and the US. Russia is WAY down the list:
