>>509008684>However, in a high trust, European society where there is genuine social cohesion between folk? I think we would see higher success rates.Nope. It's impossible due to greed. Period.
"Real communism" = absence of the state. No central government. One big hippie commune.
But the transition to communism requires income redistribution.
People, even people in a high trust society, do not want to give up all of their own shit to other people. People like owning shit. People have to be forced to give up all of their own shit. You need a large, powerful central government to force people to give up all of their own shit.
Once that large, powerful central government is formed, they will not, under any circumstances, willingly cede their own power. This is human nature. Those in power, who are able to enrich themselves with said power, WILL try their hardest to remain rich and in power.
Once they have enough power to enforce income redistribution, this means they have a LOT of power and it is VERY difficult to take it from them. At this point, the only way they lose power is catastrophic failure of the system.
Catastrophic failure of the system awakens the populace to the reality that communism is bullshit. At this point, the last thing the populace is going to do is react to the catastrophic failure of society by implementing "real communism."
It's fucking impossible.

You are referring to socialists. They may call themselves communists, but they are socialists, not communists.
