The history of this is somewhat complex but more or less, US and other western intelligence agencies had infiltrated Saudi Arabian Wahhabist sects at some point around the 1970s.
By the late 70s western intelligence agencies were working directly with these Saudi radicals. Namely to establish them as leadership amongst the Muslims in Afghanistan fighting the Soviets. This was accomplished most famously with Osama Bin Laden (a rich Saudi) being among the leadership of the Mujahideen. Bin Laden was most definitely 'their guy" at this point.
At some point after the war, Bin Laden shifted his focus to fighting the west. There's a very good chance that Israeli intelligence saw an opportunity to draw the United States into the Middle East via a massive terrorist attack by radicalized Muslims.
Not only did Mossad likely come up with the idea to use planes, they also made sure the twin towers were rigged with explosives under the cover of an Israeli art project.
The reason we know they were heavily involved is because they straight up warned certain Jewish individuals not to be at the WTC on 9/11. Now, because there was a warning, this lead to a cascading effect of corruption to occur, where multiple investigations were completely halted due to evidence being conveniently destroyed alongside backups during 9/11.
There's DOZENS of examples of this, the most damning being the investigation into the infamous trillions of dollars unaccounted for by the Pentagon that was conveniently lost in it's entirety.
The more you understand about 9/11, the more you learn the truth, Jews within Israel and the US masterminded it and got richer while the US fought the Jews enemies for them in the Middle East.
This also helped achieve another goal, which was creating so much instability in the Middle East that massive amounts of Arabs would immigrate into Europe.
