Most of the members were private school college kids, mostly white, which didn't bother me, but they wanted to do engagement/outreach and canvassing in the poorer communities in town, which were predominantly poor blacks, greeks, asians, latinos, etc. I pointed out that the optics of a bunch of snobby yuppie kids going door to door to ask poor people to go out of their way to register vote for a guy they didn't give a shit about, during an economic crisis/pandemic, without asking if they need help or assistance first, was probably not going to work well. Then I asked them why do none of the people from the communities they "serve" see any value in joining the group and they were all silent.
Needless to say, it didn't matter because they never did anything anyway so recruiting more people to do nothing would've just been a waste of time anyway.
