I'm 100% okay with giving these essential workers TPS while we deport the rest, especially since this pass isn't a pathway to citizenship at all. It's better for them, too, because with a pass they're no longer invisible and the employer has accountability for their safety and wellbeing.

You do realize that there are already work visas for exactly that, right? The H2A and H2B are for temporary workers. But that would mean that their employers would have to pay higher wages and employment taxes and such, rather than just paying illegals cash under the table.
