A lot of skateboard tricks require a certain level of "springiness" in the board, it's why cheap ones are 3 layers of wood and pricey ones are 6 layers of wood, 3 and 3 with a plastic material in the middle. Titanium metal is much less springy than the wood/plastic used, so it would be much harder to do tricks.

A leaf should actually know this, but skateboards are made with 7 layers of Canadian maple, 5 vertical, 2 horizontal. There are experimental boards with fiberglass, carbon fiber or epoxy resin, but the 7 layer maple is still the dominant standard.

I think I may have confused skateboarding and longboarding. I know the plastic layer with 6 layers of wood is true of longboards because I was helping a friend buy one a while ago and got talking with the store guys what they had. I suppose skateboards are different, where wood is still the usual - it'd make sense from a material sci perspective, but I'm not a skateboard expert.

Your steps don't get damaged by people skateboarding on them unless you're a miserly kike and have the cheapest weakest concrete you can get specced out poured. If skateboarders chip up your stairs and ledges they were going to round off and get dips worn into them in half a decade from consistent foot traffic anyway. Ledge and stair damage is exclusively a tightwad concern.

Skateboarding was fun untill the 2020s but if i could go back in time i would have never started.. its a beta male activity meet lots of other degenerates . I know lots of pro skaters / i was sponsored like 10 pro skaters made any sort of real money most of them had reality tv shows or large companies but most pro skaters are literally broke as fuck selling stuff from thier monthly box to get by have to share a cuck box apartment with other dudes i stoped skating when i realized a retail job makes the same amount of money id say the good is tho that they dont have a schedule like most workers
