>>509116119Sin is what we hold against ourselves. The guilt, shame, what have you, which we carry around on an easily ignorable level. God didnt need anyone to die to not see us as sinners, we needed someone to die to show us that if we truly want it to be so then whatsoever weve done is water under the bridge. The religious like to beat people over the head with "you are doing evil you are going to go to hell repent you sinner!1!1" The truth is that anyone who has evil thoughts is already in hell.
>what is an evil thoughtany thought which disagrees with God
>that sounds stupid and tyrannicalOnly if you dont realize what is being disagreed with. God made us to be innocent, entirely blameless, without any imperfections, but we look everywhere to find what we have done wrong, and what is wrong with us. All the volumes of scripture, all the complex mysteries beyond any real understanding, many will tell you its a draconian rulebook that you should either unquestioningly follow or ridicule, others will tell you its some crazy puzzle that you have to solve if you want "real power", its none of those things, all of it, every singular word of it, every combination of every word, all the stories that seem far fetched, all the parables and proverbs, all of it, not for everyone else, not a command to do any particular thing, specifically a message to you, just to say "I love you".
There is only one God but your God is nothing like what any of these fuckers have to say about him.
