they shouldn't have been allowed to strike iran at all, in the first place. This way here, they got to go hog wild, destroy a bunch of shit, and trump gets to look like we "restrained" israel, and that israel isn't calling the foreign policy shots.

The only way iran is ever going to do anything substanitive by just firing a few of those missiles as a a response, is if they tip one with a nuke. Otherwise, iran has no way to project force like israel does. They cant fly over and just pick israel apart with glide bombs, like israel just did to them. You have to get close to israel. And iran has a weak airforce before this, and it just got weaker, because they lost shitload of air craft, including their MiG 29s. They need to tighten the fuck up and get advanced air craft from russia and china. They need more s 300 and s 400 SAM systems as well, and more/better air to air missiles. They need to be able to hit israel air craft. They need to hit the air craft when its on the bases as well, like israel just did to them.

They used a lot of GBU 31s and other glide bomb stand off weapons. So they didn't really need to penetrate. And iran's SAM systems won't do shit against glide bombs. The need EW. And even russia can't consistently stop glide bombs, even with their outstanding EW capabilities. You gave to hit the planes on the ground, generally. Like Ukraine does when they hit the Su-34 fighter bombers. Those are the ones that carry KAB/FAB kitted glide bombs.And iran can only do that with long range missiles. And they haven't succeeded.
