This is a slippery slope of concessions. I'm not saying you're an alcoholic if you like to drink. It's like calling you a sex addict for finding sex pleasurable and having it a few times a week.

But I will say, a gallon per week is a lot. You need to be fully sober for a few days to fully appreciate a good buzz. 2 liters per month, tops, is a good balance.

Also, if you can't NOT drink for a month, then you are definitely an alcoholic. If you can go without alcohol for a whole month, once a year, then I'd say you're fine.
