Thats not how it works. You hitch your wagon to a horse, then you make it easier for the horse (nicer feed/reward, nicer incentives/conditions/lifestyle for the horse, added tech to horse processes), then you think about replacing the horse (automation). Outsource the horse and those perks for the horses dont exist, and as well the motive for replacing the horse is more difficult without hands-on experience with horses and their processes.
