>years ago read a schizo-post saying all grass seeds used to have clover seeds mixed in but the evil seed companies stopped doing it to sell more fertilizer and sprinklers
>think itโ€™s nonsense
>today, walking in the park
>grass is completely yellow and dried out
>except patches with clovers, they are lush green (even with no shade)

What the fuck

Is everything else on this board also true?

I tried the clover lawn meme. I can tell you objectively that it is bullshit. Clover grows quite high, many areas in my yard would grow knee-high. It cannot be cut easily without ruining it. It has almost no tolerance at all for foot traffic, even walking over it a couple of times starts killing it. It dies back rapidly after you trim it or mow it and you have to reseed it again. It creates tangled mats of thatch underneath.

If you lived out in the country on a few acres and had animals or bees or something like that it might make more sense. As An urban lawn it's complete bullshit

We don't have "Australian" bumblebees, they are genetically identical to the Scottish kind. Bumblebees sting, you're just dumb because Europe has African honeybees who are agrressive. Australian honeybees sting too.

The myth you perpetuate is due to the fact that bumblebees have smaller sparser hives so you don't get swarmed, you still get fucking stung.

this meme sucks, it omits the bavarian soviet republic
commie jews under direction from moscow started an illegal coup, took over a federal state, seceeded it and proclaimed a soviet republic on german soil

they desecrated the church, wrote lenin, started a famine just a year after the family of the russian tsar was butchered by the red terror

oh shid you're right. I guess golfers really love dry cleaning.

My dad got parkinsons because I'm allergic to bug spray and I can't wear open toe footwear because my feet pour with sweat and I slip and slide all over the place, so I drenched his pillows in the same spray until they were soaking and let them dry and put them back on his bed. He was diagnosed 18 months later.

Grass is on God a psyop

Lawns started as a way for aristocracy to flex, because they didn't need to grow food on that land and could pay people to maintain it. The plebs and poors, being the eternal Nog, wanted to emulate that so they could bix nood about how much they're like the rich.

Now lawns have become another unnecessary facet of the ever poorer middle class who keep up the charade.

I'm not anti yard or property I've got 3 acres but keeping it as some kind of weird overly manicured outside carpet is gay bug man nonsense. Half my property is scrubbier than a zoomers girls pussy, just the way I like both. I keep the grass in the areas we go short but I'm not trying to force growth where it ain't going to work. I've planted other things in areas that don't support grass because covering your entire existence is chemicals is fucking wack.

Tldr: lawns are gay and a trick by rich Jews to get poor people to poison themselves and waste time and money. Also weeds aren't real, plants are plants nature knows what the fuck it's doing

Duh, it provides shade
The sun sterilizes the ground and the bacteria in it
Any normal piece of grass grows very tall in nature because of that
If you cut it short, you need ground cover foliage
creeping phlox and myrtle, candytuft is good also
having some pieces of stone and wood and maybe some stone crops is also nice, especially if you have a small to medium sized tree

>Glyphosate
Yes I'm aware of the bullshit they used in order to get rid of clover as ground cover since round up kills it. Clover is still great as a ground cover as is Jasmine, but it sucks for a lawn.

BTW every single person here should stop using glyphosate immediately and switch to Triclopyr. If you're not already familiar with it it is like a miracle herbicide. While I would still wear ppe when using it, It has no known link to cancer or neurotoxicity. Even at low levels like 0.25%, it will wreck invasive species especially useful for stuff like poison ivy. It's what they use in the national Forest service because it's so effective even over large areas but does not persist in the soil and has a half-life of about 8 to 10 days and is often completely gone within 40 days.

However if you're dealing with the real nasty invasive Chinese shit like waxleaf privet, tree if heaven, or knot weed, etc you can keep this stuff at full strength, mux 50/50 with diesel and just paint it on the bark around the base of the plant and it will kill it and one treatment, even better if you cut it and paint the stump. It will even travel down into, not only the root, but also the rhizome network and kill the entire thing.

But it gets better because it does not persistent soil and is broke down by regular soil microbes so you can even use it very near proximity to desirable plants without worrying about killing them.

Normally you need a license in order to buy this stuff but Amazon drop shippers will send it to you no problem. The only downside is it can be very expensive often times costing like $250 a gallon, although for a typical homeowner this is probably a lifetime supply. There's a brand name called garlon 4 and a slightly more generic one called Tri 4 (4= 40% crazy strong basically a super concentrate).

If you don't believe me paste this entire post into chatgpt and ask it to fact check.

I have a cloverleaf mix yard. We didn't do much except raking out the pebbles and roots beforehand. After 2 years it's pretty good. It's not the kind of lawn you'd want to walk barefoot or lay in the grass because of the bee's and other insects. But it is really healthy and it changed the soil from mostly sandy to a dark fertile grounds.

It all depends on your region chuds. Ultimately clover is non native though. For some of us- the final red pill is getting your whole yard in wirgrass and longleaf pine and then just burning it once every two years. Of course this is a 40 year process. Your best bet though is a turf grass lawn. It may need aeration though. If youre into non native ground covers perennial peanut is better than clover imho.

Also, dont worry so much about the lawn just keep it mowed and plant some trees goddam.

gpt:
Clover is a nitrogen-fixing plant, meaning it can convert atmospheric nitrogen into a form that plants can use. This is achieved through a symbiotic relationship with Rhizobium bacteria, which live in nodules on the clover's roots. The bacteria convert nitrogen gas into ammonia, which the clover can then utilize for growth.

So then, let's continue.

Globohomo's origin story:
>once upon a time the world has been peaceful and harmonious, then came along a snakeoil merchant
>the snakeoil merchant has sent ahead an ostensibly filthy-rich bait to a village
>the bait very publically flaunted his shinies and pitched worthless magic paper to the villagers
>the villagers sought out the snakeoil merchant, willing to trade their everything for worhless magic paper
>a week later, after realizing that its worthless magic paper they couldn't use anywhere else, they returned to the merchant to trade it back
>the snakeoil merchant told them that he would be a fool to trade back all the resources for the original prices, as there are so few resources in comparison to the volumes of worthless magic paper now in circulation
>villagers involved legal authority which told them to fuck off, because the trades were legal -- the merchant didn't lie, the bait did and the villagers didn't bother asking the merchant or reading the fineprint
>the snakeoil merchant showed "mercy" and allowed the villagers to burrow the resources against a fee and interest paid with the worthless magic paper
>[fast forward] the village is bankrupt and indebted, everyone's at each other throat having scammed each other out of their worthless magic paper to pay their own fees
>the merchant once again showed "mercy" and offered them a deal: if they assume the role of the bait and spread the good word of the worthless magic paper in other villages they'll be allowed to stay in their homes and toil their fields
>[fast forward] the merchant is now considered the sovereign, writing the laws and ruling over terminally indebted and blackmailed royality and common folk alike, all the while canonizing the most prolific baits as prophets and whatnot
>[fast forward] (You)'re here.

The predatory system of incentives that is usury demands that you are made and kept dependant. Moreso it demands a continous surplus production of hyperprocessed, inedible slop, addictive pharma goo and shoddily designed, terminally obsolescent devices. The entire "economy" boils down to selling longterm problems and renting out shortterm solutions: the longer any given problem exists, the more interest and debt payments are generated. The more people consume, the more worthless magic can and needs to be "printed"-- read: assumed to exist in the past (debt), the present (credit) and the future (interest) in whatever quantity necessary to influence, if not outright control your behaviour.
Imagine if there only existed few, lasting high-quality goods -- how could you maintain the illusion of representation? For every single unit of worthless magic paper there exists a likewise worthless waste of resources on some shelves, in some ramshakle "buisness" that's run exclusively on loans (like any other). Any time someone enters the system a loan is issued, the "value" of money is reduced, everyone's means to repay their debt and interest are diminished -- everyone is incentivzed to scam each other out of their loans.

Money is not a currency, it's a vacous commodity. A commodity whose value is dependant on its supply and its demand, and that is yet valued in itself. A commodity whose supply is in control of a select few private hands and whose demand is negotiated by public opinion, which is coincidentially in control of the same select few private hands through propagandists, who, you've guessed it, are paid with it.

It's a closed loop of garbage-in, garbage-out. There is only one true currency left: influence, and its derivative: blackmail.

Europoors have this weird obsession with HOAs as if most Americans live in one. HOAs are extremely uncommon. I wouldn't even know where to find one anywhere near where I live.

And if you do live in one, it's because you deliberately chose to live in one. It's like if there are 10 houses in an HOA, and their only rule is all the houses have to be painted yellow. You buy one of those houses, then complain because you don't want to paint it yellow.

Dandelions work great to break up soil, but theyโ€™re a poor nutrition source of nectar for pollinators in the US where dandelion is non-native. Having said that, I would prefer, and have had, a yard full of dandelions, clover, and wild strawberries over shitty grass. The grass was always a bitch to mow and I eventually became allergic to it. I had to start wearing a mask like a COVID lunatic.
Microclover is amazing ground cover. Doesnโ€™t grow high, tolerates some abuse, fixes nitrogen, and produces beautiful flowers. I over-seeded areas of my yard that were torn up by stump removal (last owner was a BPD retard and cut a bunch of trees down and left the stumps in his maniac phases). It overtook the crappy grass seed the company laid down even though we had a drought. It was 100% worth it just to watch the bees buzzing happily from clover flower to clover flower.

weeds are nearly impossible to stop. unless you have a patch of grass in the middle of a city that's surrounded by concrete. even then you'll still have the occasional weed pop up cause their seed made it on someones shoe or pant leg or blown by the wind.

through pulling weeds, and spraying weed killer and throwing down grass seed, I managed to make my lawn all grass only. but then it was just a constant battle on either side of my yard where it meets my neighbors lawns and they creep over from there because they only cut their grass and nothing else. so I gave up. nothing I can do unless my neighbors also get rid of theirs, or else I'd just be spending a lot of time right where their lawn meets mine spraying and picking all the time

i use ~20ml of 3% peroxide on 10l for watering pot plants in soil. results are really god. no fungal diseases any longer, not even with roses that are prone to it. i have white and pink clover in the lawn. pure magic, although it gets me into conflict when mowing is required, as it takes away the bloom that bees thrive on. it regrows in no time though and generally improves the overall condition of the lawn. with current temps it also helps avoid the dried up patches. no need to spray paint lawn here.

80% of people have magnesium deficiency
90% of people have vitamin D3 deficiency
70% of people have zinc deficiency
etc etc

and guess what? Due to overtilling and overusing of soil we no longer can get these minerals and vitamins from plants/animals, only through supplements, which ARE MADE WITH TITANIUM DIOXIDE which is fucking bad for our health

A friend tried micro clover because his grass was shit and dry.
First year it was nice and green but he cut it when it was too high, like 9 to 12 inches easily, and I assume he cut it when it was flowering so it shocked the plants and they couldn't reseed.
The next year there is little to no clover, grass is shit again while his neighbors it's green as fuck and perfect.
500$ down the drain again lol.
I once bought blueberries and haskaps, he wanted some, they all died next year.. he has a green thumb he said.

Based clover debunker.

The problem is these niggers are too lazy to maintain a lawn, so they come up with all these bullshit "no maintenance" lawn schemes. None of them work. If you want an aesthetically pleasing lawn, you have to spend time every week maintaining it. You have to mow, fertilize, and weed. No different than you have to tend, fertilize, and weed fruits and vegetables.

My favorite is "I'm just going to plant wildflowers". Oh yeah, that's so simple, and think of all the beautiful native flowers with no work whatsoever. Why didn't everyone else think of that? What a fucking genius.

Fact is, any patch of dirt that you do no maintenance to will turn into an overgrown unsightly vacant lot full of the worst, most aggressive, weeds that thrive in your area. Your stupid "wildflower lawn" will have 3 daisies in year 1, then after that, it will be a tangled mess of 4 foot tall weeds. Go look at the lawns in the vacant lots in Detroit, that's your fucking "wildflower lawn".

No!! If you use it in a sprayer you want to dilute it down to about 0.5 to 2% and apply in large drops (not mist) to foliage. You may need to make several applications but you want to wait at least a week in between them and observe how it reacts. Usually for younger plants that are still green and not barked over.

The 50/50 diesel mix is expected to be performed with 40% Triclopyr. You DO NOT spray it. You apply it with a brush onto a freshly cut stump. Although if you're being lazy you can also apply it to the bark and it will still do the job. The diesel combines with the Triclopyr and acts as an oily carrier that penetrates through and gets into the roots and rhizomes. It will usually kill them in one shot, you rarely need to reapply more than once. Although it can take a couple of weeks in order for the death to occur. This is more for very mature plants that have well established rhizome networks that can be almost impossible to kill otherwise.

Like I said, it is a miracle herbicide.

>is everything else on this board true
if you have the mental capacity to sift shill bullshit away from what actual anons are saying then yes.

now, anyway, let me explain why this works and why monoculture grass, or anything, needs inordinate amounts of support for it to thrive. Plants do not simply take nutrients from the soil, they also change the makeup of the nutrients in the soil. Some plants remove more nitrogen than others, some conversely add nitrogen, and it is the same with everything else in the soil. like how if you plant certain vegetables near others then the taste of those vegetables will be different. its not becuase of their pollen getting mixed but rather because their roots are too close. move those same plants 5 feet over, close enough that pollinators would still mix pollen from both plants, and the taste difference wont be there.

megabrain moment: the roots of a plant arent just some structure that they use to get food/water. it is more like anenomes and coras, both of which engage in open warfare against nearby corals that they dont like. Which is funny when you consider "muh great peaceful reefs are dying" the reefs are literal warzones.

anyway, a plants roots do the same thing. all plants have the ability to move somewhat, in some it is more obvious than others, if you touch a plant that it reaching for another plant it will curl around your finger on its own. The roots are no different in this regard, they go where they want to go and they will purposely swarm the roots of nearby plants that they dont like.

we replaced a section of our grass with clover 3 years ago so we didn't have to mow as often in that part of the yard and it is always green however for some reason most of it dies and doesnt come back as well and we have to reseed yearly. it looks cool coming up though like a blanket

I'd be ok with that but I don't have kids. My yard is mainly there as a buffer between the house and others. Deer, rabbits, and bees are all fine. If it gives cover to yellow jackets, roaches, and house invading insects, that'd be an issue.

That's what I said, a white family lives there. So we agree.

Let me explain to you...When you're white and well-off, you pay poor brown people to do chores that you don't want to do. For you, that means you mow my lawn. Or, you can do things like pump my septic system.

You see that as "lazy" or "incompetent". To me, my leisure time is valuable to me. I don't even pay attention to the pittance I pay manual laborers to cut my grass.

We have that here and I have a buddy who bought a piece of shit newbuild Manhattan style townhouse for close to a $1,000,000 in our monopoly money around covid time.
His mortgage is like $3500 and he has to pay $1200 a month in condo fees and get this, his fees cover landscaping and snow plow removal but he has no grass and his garage is literally on the curb so there's no driveway.
Shit is such a fucking scam.

my lawn for one sucks
I admittedly know about nothing about lawns, but it sucks noticeably because of the clover that makes patches, and has been in flowers for weeks
clover also is weird to walk on, almost as weird as moss
and the claim in the thread that they stay green even in the sun is moot: clovers only sprouts in the shaded areas, in my law

the place I re-scarified (did it earlier to get rid of moss), laid and flattened a bit of dirt, sewn with seeds, then laid and flattened a bit of dirt again are pretty cool
no clover in those, fwiw (I wouldn't even cared if it was green and nice to walk on, but clover is never the latter, to me)
I don't put chemicals and only water the first few days when I've sown
I'll probably do that to the patchy places, and the places with clover, desu (only did about 1/5th of the lawn, to try that method)

Yes, it does but here hereโ€™s an example. I had tons of pepper plants that were densely covered in aphids. I try to grow everything from seed however we were busy this year and I picked up some starters from a local nursery. I really thought I was going to lose the pepper plants so I misted 3% hydrogen peroxide onto the leaves and poured straight 3% liquid around the soil where the immediate root ball would be located. I did this three times over the course of a week. All of the aphids died. All of the leaves fell off the pepper plants, which then regrow and started producing peppers. It was of my first experiments with hydrogen peroxide as an insecticide. So while it did destroy all types of beneficial bacteria in the process, there must have been soil surrounding the roots containing beneficial bacteria which was unable to re-establish itself while the aphids are all dead. Food grade, hydrogen peroxide. No dawn soap needed. Just like with anything the dose makes the poison.

the fucker who started growing rice by just throwing raw grains into dried out weeds while asian grandmas spent their entire lives bent in two over rice paddies broke me a few years ago. Then i started studying permaculture and i realized that we have no actual understanding of natural cycles because there is simply no funding in it. If it cannot be reliably repeated/scaled up, it doesn't exist. No money in it, no research, thus it's "Not real". It's like the entire industrialized world got tunnel vision, where scalable + mechanized = good, when in truth it all rests on cheap human labor filling all the gaps at once.
Worst of all, i was a biomed student and i realized that back then (2015) we didn't know what caused myopia even though it was known for over a century (eye strain in low light conditions).
This is functional medicine even exists, because a fucking PhD gastroenterologist cannot answer "what happens when there is positive gaseous pressure in the duodenum? " with any certainty. Personal experience. In fact he claimed it "cannot happen". Then in 2021 we found out that not only it is possible, but common too.
Clown world became long ago and only got worse.

It's not that science is bad or doesn't work, it's that humans just make gods out of every little thing around them, then immediately confirmation bias and build entire societies around it.

it's subsidized because it's profitable, and it's profitable because it's repeatable. A secure supply line just raises margins in an industrial setting. You need to match volumes and just-in-time deliveries without fail, 365 days per year. You're not going to use anything that can't be easily produced at volume regardless of external conditions, because that builds trust, and trust is profitable in a world where trust gives value to currency, not goods. It's honestly amazing how the entirety of clown world is only given by one thing alone: the US dollar being fiat

holy fucking moron. have you ever seen a lawn? grass, no matter how short you cut it, "provides shade." that's why you can't see the fucking dirt.

also, the sun does not "sterilize the dirt"... jesus fucking christ you are stupid. yes UV kills a lot of microorganisms, but that would apply to only the top microscopically thin layer of dirt. sunlight doesn't penetrate dirt, dipshit. so even if some tiny sliver of the surface is "sterilized" by UV, the rest isn't.

so no, you absolute moron. clovers are not saving the dirt from UV sterilization thus allowing themselves to grow better than grass when grass has that same effect.

where do your levels of stupidity come from?

Lawns are the scam, why are we all competing with each other to look like we have the most meticulously over-managed medieval lord courtyards? Enjoy the endless amount of poison you will expose yourself to along with bottomless pit of spent money, all to look out at your lifeless void of a lawn and say "golly gee it sure is neat and green :)" unless you are a golfer or you need a flat green space to play sportball in, just turn it into a wildflower bed with trails through it. What else were you gonna do with the land anyways? Look at it? Sit in the lawn and browse 4chan on your phone?

This man is a shill for big lawncare at worst or a retard at best. So many false dichotomies and straw men in his desperate plea for monoculture and chemical products. Anything invasive that goes to seed should not be maximized. The crimson clover is fairly common on roadsides but I have no desire to go planting a bunch of it. You can get some good native flowering mixes very easily also if youre into that.

Now, on the other hand the grasses are non native also but having dealt with clover extensively it does not compete with a good grass lawn if well kept. People want to be special and different but there is a reason grass is so popular and convenient. And dont give me this boomer shit either- the best form and functionality is well kept grass lawn plus native shade trees woth native flowering trees/shrubs underneath and then native shrubs and flowers in beds nearby.

A grass lawn checks alot of boxes for the high traffic areas around a house. I have a few square miles of woods that it backs up to so if I want to carve out six acres around my house and have the lawn look like a golf course I dont see the harm.

I am a proponent of grass lawns and I say this as someone who probably wasted more time piddling in the woods and collecting seeds and transplanting native trees and plants than Id like to think about. The woods are the woods. Your yard is your yard.

Hahahahha okay grass jew, enjoy paying out the nose to get cancer later in life! Maybe you'll have a nicely manicured lawn to look at out the window when you're getting chemo treatment later in life.

I don't live in a HOA community, my house is in a township that doesn't have this type of shit.
These are just things I've heard from family and friends that live in these style of communities.

Kek that's not a bad idea.
The wildest thing I heard was somebody who works from home remotely getting a notice to cease and desist from operating a commercial business in their house, the guys wife is an accountant and has no advertising or anything on their home lol and the HOA threatened to evict within 90 days or some shit.

there's a reason we use grass.
it's because even when dormant it holds the topsoil in one place.
you grow clover or let alehoof take over your lawn all your topsoil will was away with the rain in dormancy.
stop larping.

Clover is based because bunnies like it.
I enjoy watching the little bunnies munch on clover.
If you donโ€™t plant clover for the little bunnies then youโ€™re not White. Bunnies are the White manโ€™s rodent.

This has been happening since ancient Egypt. Why do you even care what we do in Arizona? How does it affect you, other than to trigger you for some bizarre reason. You're literally angry that we expanded a city in a desert. lol

If someone wants to be special with your lawns, there are some things you can do that are region specific but they are not year around things. It takes some understanding of your region and seasonal cycles.

So where I live in early spring I will often hold off on mowing to let the red sorrel and toad flax (weather permitting) come in in certain little padlocks and patches on the edges of the lawn. It looks nice, but once it plays out it looks like shit.

So what I do is let the red sorrel and toadflax come in for a few weeks, that early the grass isnt growing super fast anyways and then start mowing after the sorrel plays out. Here is an example of a little spot I let come in like this every year. Once the Bahia starts though you have to mow mow mow.

I was raised by a single mother so I am unable to trust women. I prefer a house to living in a communal hive. I tried condo and apartment living. It sucked. A house has more responsibility attached to maintaining it but I'm fine with that. The peace of having my own space far exceeds any extra work I have to put into maintaining it.

Let's recap this "wild" situation...

- HOA has rules that you can't operate a commercial business out of your home.
- Wife signed a contract agreeing to those rules
- Wife runs a commercial business out of her home
- HOA tells her to stop

>HOA is fucking crazy! They're out of control! This is crazy!

This sounds like "dindu nuffin" black people logic. She's breaking rules that agreed on, and now she's mad she got caught, and somehow this isn't fair? I don't get this logic. No one is forcing her to live there. She signed the contract.

Before this thread dies- to any anons in the SE US. I will give you some wisdom I wish I had ten years ago that I've learned.

When you plant things look at what likes to grow in the woods around you. These things will be less troublesome long term. Get seedlings from the woods if you can.

Here is a list of plants I have found grow fast enough to enjoy in your lifetime, are native, and are not troublesome to grow:
>Florida Maple (southern sugar maple)
>Red Maple
>Florida Anise
>Needle Palm
>Southern Magnolia
>Spruce Pine
>Winged Silverbell
>Fringe Tree
>Sparkleberry
>Sweet Bay Magnolia
>Swamp Chestnut Oak
>Southern Live Oak (you wont live to see it mature but they arent slow growers).

>trichloroethylene
pretty nasty
my father was a woodworker and woodworking teacher
I remember in his class workshop, when I was a kid: there was suppposed to be a sort of glass walled room with bathes to degrease the tools with trichlo
they never had enough room, so they installed bathes outside too, just next to the working students, lol
can still recognize the smell instantly (it's like bug spray, but seriously overpowering and aromatic, like bugspray mixed with almonds)
my father died from digestive tract cancer, but I think it came from the fine dust (his breath always smelled funny, when he was woodworking: I have a hound nose, so I clearly smelled it was that)
when he died, I found dozens of liters of trichloroethylene, in his workshop
kept some (great for lubricating outside hinges, and the like), gave some to a friend's father who was a mechanics (and who immediately proceeded to use it to degrease his kitchen hood, right above the stove, where it overdripped on since he used copious amounts, lol: just boomer things), and threw away the rest
