>>509213742 (OP)Guys, let me be the voice of reason amongst all the one-liner angst and shitposts: climate change is real.
Yes, you're already angry I've said it, but you don't know why yet. It's not because of CO2, that's not an issue, it's actually beneficial to have CO2 because it helps plants grow. The real reasons are this:
>constant urban expansion>constant deforestation for resources>constant pollution into seas and riversAnd the ultimate cause of those 3 things? Population growth. Our planet cannot cope with the sheer amount of people on it, especially not when they're all coming to wealthy countries and increasing the already high demands. We need more houses to live in, we need more meat to eat, we need more products to buy.
Now, the "elites" will tell you that it's all fine, you just need to recycle more, or eat a little bit less meat, or take fewer holidays by plane. All those things they'd never do. But the solution is this: DROP THE POPULATION SIZES. Again, the "elites" won't ever admit this, because it would ultimately harm their profits. They've built our economies on an unsustainable growth model, where each generation's productivity is stolen by the "elites", and then a large generation is needed to support the "debt" from the previous one. It's why they WANT mass immigration, and keep fearmongering about low birth rates, because they NEED more slaves, each generation greater than the last, to prop up their unsustainable economic model of taking more and more money from you.
So why the big focus on CO2? It's an easy distraction. It's something you can cheaply claim is being dealt with through nonsense fines and trading of "CO2 rations". Nothing actually stops, manufacture and big business keeps on going, but it makes you THINK there's something being done. Ultimately, nothing will, until that slow march into oblivion where we've destroyed the planet for the sake of greedy "elites" making big profits for themselves.
