I'd even go further than this and say that Stalin was enabled by the Russians more or less supporting him and the party or alt east accepting his legitimacy, Stalin needed the kind of people like Russians to gain and stay in power, he wouldn't be able to do this in Georgia. I can write pages on how much I hate Russians, for all the objectives reasons. This doesn't change the fact that there was no narrowly "Ukrainian genocide" or that I should support Zelensky or independent Chechnya

It's true. I wouldn't call them greedy as much as just losing their incentive to produce and hoping a protest of production would collapse their oppressors. Based, but that part gets left out because from that angle "capitalist greed" can seem like more the cause. And maybe it is, but it downplays the logistical errors and fragility of the Soviet Union.

All systems have their flaws and making such a drastic transition need to account for actions like that.
