Back in the 1930s, the city of Detroit (once dubbed the "Paris of America") was covered in beautiful socialist realist murals, all of them commissioned by FDR's administration. These murals glorified the working people of Detroit by portraying them as heroes.

Today, Detroit is the beacon of ugliness in America. Those beautiful socialist realist murals have been locked away in a museum away from public view. Breathtaking old buildings have been demolished. Most of the city lies in ruin. Detroit music now consists of J Dilla "beat tapes" made by pushing buttons on a sampler and adding a distorted drum pattern, and songs by Eminem and Insane Clown Posse about hacking people to death. Not to mention all the illegal raves where people play heinous techno "music." Meaningless modern "art" is everywhere in this city as is graffiti.

I fully believe the reason Detroit won't recover to its past greatness is because of this ugliness embedded within the city's modern culture. When you are surrounded by ugly art and music, you start to see the entire world as ugly, chaotic and confused. This causes you to start losing faith in your fellow man and creates an overall sense of nihilism and despair. It doesn't matter if the auto jobs come back. It doesn't matter if all of those empty lots are replaced by adequate housing. It's the CULTURE of Detroit that needs to change before anything will be fixed.

Get rid of the graffiti and replace it with socialist realist murals glorifying industrial workers. Get rid of hip hop and techno and get Detroit's children learning CLASSICAL music like they do in China, and have public classical music concerts like they did in the Soviet Union. Rebuild all the beautiful old buildings again.

BEAUTY will save Detroit before reindustrialization.

As a working class individual, you need a rebrand. Dubbing something "socialist" just leaves a foul taste in people's mouths. You could call it "industrial life realism", it would still be true, and would achieve the desired effect of inspiring working class solidarity.

And let's be real, the architecture of the city itself is ugly as sin. A revitalization effort needs put into place. A mix of art nouveau and classical revivalist architecture would suit a new Detroit quite well. Within the buildings, instead of a dead ceiling, commission Early and High Rennaissance style murals for them. Fountains that are good reproductions of the ones in Europe as well should be included into revitalized and re-landscaped parks.

I'll bite, socialist realist art is an inversion of iconography by the anti-theistic Marxists. Iconography enshrines the sacred and prior to the Renaissance was reserved for Saints/Holy ones.

Theres no benefit of homeownership in Detroit. Taxes are beyond rent possibilities for most under employed, so they'll lose their grandfathers house. Downtown has been gentrified but mostly insurance, crime, parking, safety are an intangible for people making 40k a year.

I have seen black artists from Detroit in the Ann Arbor Art Fair paint in that art style. Sometimes even modern reproductions of artworks from that era scaled down to fit a canvas. And I don't mean 1 or 2 artists, I am talking about 5-7. At least 10 artists painting and sculpting in that style when you include the white Detroit artists. Out of 1000 booths. It is kikes enabling dumb niggers as usual driving everything to the lowest common denominator.

Detroit was a giant manufacturing city jobs paid great wages when blacks were joining the ranks few cared because there were so many jobs to do but when the auto industry started to shrink in the mid 70s whites moved to the suburbs while blacks stayed in the city..racial tensions boiled over in 1967, a 4 day riot..it was the beginning of the end for Detroit.. People with $$ moved out, Detroit became a city of niggers, ultimate NEETs, no money,jobs or etc..drugs and booze did the rest.. if they reduced the minimum wage in Detroit to $0.00 (for 30 years) the economy would explode..
