Can someone please tell me what the long-term plan for alleviating the doctor shortage in America is? Eliminating grad plus loans doesn't seem very effective given the skyrocketing cost of medical school. Is the plan just to kill off doctors entirely and relegate everything to nurses using AI?

The last thing you said. Doctors are just people that know stuff (sometimes). AI can easily replace most of them.

We have a doctor shortage? Legit did not know this
Maybe it’s because I went to school with tons of Asians and Indians, but almost all of them are doctors now

I'd trust an AI over a human doctor any day of the week.

The elitist class have this shiny new AI thingy ma bob.
Pretty much they'll put it everywhere they can and see if the shit works out, if a bunch of people die it wont be reported, families get paid out, and the bugs will be "fixed".
They are just winging it, good luck anon.

It's not just a shortage of doctors, it's a shortage of healthcare professionals in general. Given how even the youngest baby boomers are in their late 60s and how most Americans are obese and suffering from poor health, this seems like the one industry they'd be doing anything and everything to educate people in but the barrier of entry keeps going up and up. It looks like a catastrophe in the making. I think South Korea has a similar problem because doctors lobbied to limit the amount of incoming students annually in an attempt to keep salaries artificially high.

Culling all the medfags would result in a golden age

Is this accounting for the smaller number of people that will exist due to the declining birth rate?

Long term plan? Dude this is America, the plan is literally having no plan.

The freaking nation was founded on "we'll cross that bridge when we get there".

The " solution " to all of our problems is to get government's big, ugly, useless dick out of everything. The best the government can be is a necessary evil. We need it to break up monopolies so that one man cannot rule by dominating all industries (in fact to be that dominating of a force probably necessitates corruption).

You're the guy complaining about his car's speakers not being loud enough because he can still hear his worn out brakes squeking. Fix the root issues and the other issues solve themselves somehow...you should run for congress, Israel needs nerds like you making decisions.

A simple flow chart is better at diagnosis than a doctor so yeah hopefully they just get rid of all generalists.

He's a kike. He wants America to be poor, stupid, and enslaved.

But that’s clearly never happening in America and the senate just passed a bill that would cap federal loans well below the average cost of attendance for medical school. Is the plan to limit medical school to the wealthy, or create permanent private debt slaves out of prospective medical students?

it's nuanced, we have a shortage of primary care doctors. We have plenty of specialists. Doctors specialize because it's much more lucrative. No one becomes a "family doctor", the kind you go to for a yearly check up. Average wait time can be months for that kind of doctor

Allow people to buy antibiotics and any other prescription drug directly. BOOM problem solved. Doctors just google that shit anyway
