I don't think you understand what those traditions were and why Jesus Christ got after them about it. They were painting the traditions as something you must do to remain spiritually clean before God which wasn't Biblical at all, it had nothing to do with hygiene. Essentially they were adding on to the Scriptures while also using their traditions to nullify other parts of the Scriptures.
