Western Europe is following Canada and Australia - it's not about filling job shortages - it's about massively driving up asset prices. Boomers own multiple investment properties and large shares in agriculture, retail, energy and other essential services. Mass jeet migration drives up the cost and demand of all these goods, making boomers millions for simply sitting on their asses. The huge wage suppression also only lowers the cost of services (like uber or domestic cleaning), meaning boomers get to stretch their easy money even further. The problem of all these jeets eventually sinking public services also doesn't matter. The boomers know they will be dead by the time the bill is due, and their kids can go into endless debt to pay for Rajeets 7 kids (all living in India) welfare.

"The Economy" (upper case, singular) is basically just atheists re-inventing God. Nobody really knows WTF they mean when they say The Economy, it's just this magical cosmic force that intervenes any time resources are involved. You may as well just say "The Resource God". There is such a thing as economies (lower case, plural) and we can reason about how they work and how they interact, but economies need a purpose. Economy is optimization. It only makes sense to talk about optimization if you have a process to optimize. You need a purpose before you can think of how to achieve that purpose in the most economical manner. Households have economies because households have a purpose, businesses have economies because businesses have a purpose, nation states have economies because nation states have a purpose etc. Our states have no purpose and thus there is no real economy, we just have The Economy as a kind of replacement for God in peoples' psyche. An example of a state with a real economy is Israel. This is because Israel has a purpose -- to secure and advance the interests of the Jewish race. Because they have a purpose they can now think of how to optimize for that purpose, and thus emerges a notion of the Israeli economy. Our states have no purpose, so we don't have an economy, we just have The Resource God. For corporations, Israel etc (ie entities with real economies) open borders in the west can benefit their economies, but for most people living in the west open borders is just a ritual to appease The Resource God.
