Ukraine's European-made air-defence systems:

IRIS - T -> annual production 500 missiles, only a fraction going to Ukraine

SAMP/T -> 200 missiles, likewise

These are simply not enough. Instead, Ukraine relies on the NASAMS (AMRAAM) and Patriot system that have/had big stockpiles (thousands of missiles).

Trump may however only be doing this to force the EU to cuck on the trade deal.
