And it's not like they have poor people jobs, one family i knew went over to the Netherlands, wife was a CA at robobank or something and husband was a fleet manager. Both said their quality of life dropped dramatically and you had no real disposable income.

If you look at people who go away from south africa and then come back/don't come back. Australia and USA is better than South Africa. Europe and New Zeeland is worse.

I just replaced my AC after the whole system burnt from a blown capacitor caught on fire outside, welding the hv lines and burning out the furnace control board and the thermostat.
the last 5 South Louisiana days were miserable and I can't understand why Europe thinks no AC is reasonable

Quad multi-split here. It's comfy. Pic related though is a portable and no-install mini-split I found you can use anywhere.

I don't have AC because I don't need it. I live in the mountains and it never gets hotter than 30°C. I do have to deal with shitty Internet though.

Europe has a much longer coastline to land ratio so they have a smaller range of temps.
When you go inland the temperature it's normal to have 100F in the summer and 0F in the winter in the same place.
Canada has a higher highest temp than any country in Europe.

Most of Europe is supposed to be cold in the winter, with very mild summers, so their houses are built to keep the heat in in the winter, and since summer isn't hot, there is no reason to normally need an AC.

Travelled last year to visit Berlin first time ever, early August, pretty hot. Train from airport to main station may have taken half an hour or so, all completely without any AC, all mixed cabins with locals. Then I saw the city and there's nothing, 80 years after bombed back to stone age and it's obvious everywhere
