>>509345566Thanks for noticing, omnibus bills are all bad, and the practice should be eliminated. Unfortunately this has been the norm since the Carter administration.
Omnibus bills, which combine multiple separate pieces of legislation into one larger bill, have become a common feature of the US budget process, particularly in the realm of appropriations, starting in the late 1970s and becoming more frequent in the 1980s. While there were earlier examples, like a one-off experiment in 1950, they became a more regular tactic for Congress to address spending disputes and complete legislative business, especially when time is running short. Massie isn't the first to complain about omnibus bills, 146 lawmakers have died on that hill opposing them. Our lawmakers love having the ability to hide their intentions from their constituents.
They can always say I voted for (insert popular issue here) meanwhile they compromised and took (bribes) insider trading tips, cash, gold, you name it, behind closed doors.
This is not what our forefathers intended.
Just like my Sister, Massie believes that all of our politicians should be soccer moms, and get rid of all the career politicians. By all means, please vote for soccer mom's in YOUR blue shithole, that would be great.
But given the stat of affairs, and corruption in D.C. I don't want a noob going to battle for my state, against the existing cartels, and we are indeed at war. I love soccer moms, don't get me wrong, but raising 3 kids in a double-wide, makes her very susceptible to temptation, and selling out.
Massie threw away all credibility and departed the moral high ground when he joined with Elon engaged in bribes.
Democrats threw a LOT of shit in the Big Beautiful Bill, so don't pretend it's all Trump.
Massie leaving politics this way, is tragic, and based on his recent behavior, there's a danger that he may feel cornered and lash out harder, or even turn to the dark side.
Hopefully not.
