It means they were peasants who practised some form of idolatry related to good harvests and game for the larder. They were praying to idols for food and prosperity. That makes them pagan. Capisce? Can homosexuality be called satanic or pagan? There certainly are demonic aspects to the gay lifestyle. However, the root cause of homosexuality is always idolatry. This image of gay pagan worshippers is as close to hell as I want to get.
