also if you're in the right cliques stuff like this just scales up, so you'll have a neighbor or a friend that will do the same, then you'll share stuff, and eventually you'll say like...
you know what? how about we pull a cable between your house and mine, and maybe some other dude that you know from another house also wants to pull a cable...
and maybe you run a private server to host some Quake or maybe you run an internal Plex instance to watch movies all together
and... functionally, that is, more or less, the Intenret and it can't be banned...
you probably would end up with parallel networks, which, imo, is not that bad of an idea
if you live in a neighborhood generationally and have friends and know people, running your own Intranet would probably even be recommended
