In the case of Saints Row that is exactly what happened. The game intentionally tried to be an over the top parody of GTA and took everything controversial out of it to apease leftists. The same might end up happening to GTA. There is also not the market there once was for hardcore single player shooters like Perfect Dark. Nobody really wants to grind a shooter when they can have the satisfying feeling of playing COD and mowing enemies down like nothing even in Veteran difficulty. There is also the fact that both PlayStation snd Xbox have their version of Netflix for games where for a monthly fee gamers can on their platform can download and play over 100 titles. The problem with this model is that both platforms try to keep a variation of games on their digital service which results in games that are not that popular being licensed out at disproportionate amount more to a more popular game that gets downloaded and played more often. This model also allows them to keep games they don’t like off the platform for hate speech or whatever nonsense they come up with.

Took goldeye guns/gadgets and took them to the next level - each gun had 2 modes, spy shit was next gen stuff, and of course had multiplayer for 4. Story was definitely campy, but FAR better than any woke shit today for sure.

Studios need to sell a copy to almost every gamer on the world to get their investment back, which is beyond retarded.
