it can begin as simple as eliminating all unnecessary expenses to whatever extremes may suit you. it might be scary at first but it will quickly become a hilarious game and freedom

if you have zero connections, working for 6-12 months then using the cost eliminating skills you've learned will allow you to go several years without being employed. rinse and repeat, eventually you'll find living situations that are next to zero cost.

I don't understand how NEET works. Do they get food stamps and money from the government? How much? It doesn't seem sustainable with the cost of housing. Or do they get no benefits and just live with someone? My aunt used to work at the social services office (hated it, she almost went insane but it was the only job in our small town and she had admin experience) and she would basically say white males were fucked when trying to get anything at all. So it changed?

I don't even need to go to office, fully remote. 2 hour bursts here and there during each day and I'm golden. My last job they tried to make people return to office 2 days a week, and I just ignored it. The best they could do was have my line manager suggest I should consider coming in but it never went further than that.

There are deadlines, but it's mostly keeping things stable and when you get good at it, it mostly takes care of itself, but it's critical and a mystery box to anyone outside of it, things just appear where they need to. Same here. I do have the occasional client meeting/lunch or team get together but it's been comfy working remote. I use my own equipment so the company cannot monitor me with tracking software. That's the big one, resist that shit but do it by using your employer's BYOD policy.
