Should've won a few races with her first, then they'd send her out to stud instead.
One of course has to assume she's a dickgirl and sending her out to stud still makes sense -- I don't see why or how Japan would make horsegirls based on male horses and not give them horsecocks.

It's probably referring to when horse owners just fucking kill their horses after they're injured.
And yes, horses can be rehabilitated after breaking a leg, but it's expensive to do so and these cheap fucks sure as hell ain't gonna do that.

Some horses that got surgery for a broken leg start running when the anesthesia wears off. Look at the only mare who raced on the Kentucky Derby track in the 70's. They tried to save her but had to put her down after she woke up, because she thought she was still racing and would have killed herself in the most agonizing way.

Something about their legs being functionally a single middle finger, which is good for agility and speed, but makes it fragile as a leg structure, and not heal very well, especially because they need it to walk and do anything.

Horses that actually succeed and win big races get to retire
The 'retire to America' cases like Suzuka are horses that had an injury in the middle of their last race that was bad enough they had to be euthanized.

it will cost more than another horse, usually in the 300% more range. you have to put them in a harness but they have to be able to support themselves on their other legs too and you have to constantly adjust it so the straps don't wear through them, basically a 24/7 nurse for WEEKS. i've never met anyone in 45 years on earth who has went the "heal the horse" route because if it was a good working horse before it won't be later, if it was a thoroughbred before it won't be later. it will be a dud horse so the ONLY reason people would keep it around is as a pet that can only stand and never be ridden or used

and the chance it shatters its leg again is 5x higher

so no point, boom, problem solved the way you could solve the kike or nigger problem

Horse legs have very poor healing capacity, mostly due to the extremity being 99% skin and bones.
Horse also have *extremely* poor capacity to not try to walk on an injured limb, due to evolution making "run the fuck away" their entire survival strategy. Most animals will limp or stay immobile if their leg hurt, horses will power through the pain just to stay mobile.
Combine the two and you have a patient for which a broken legs is pretty much a guaranteed death sentence from the fracture constantly worsening and sooner or later causing too much blood loss, maddening pain, global infection, or all of the above.

Racing horse owner being generally piece of shit who only care about money, they won't even bother trying and just get it euthanized on the spot unless the injury is very minor.

horses cannot lay down
they even sleep standing sometimes
you cannot force it to lay down, its system is built like this, that if it doesn't stand up all the time it will die
even if you cast the leg it will break it because it is a very restless animal
even if it didn't break the cast, standing on 3 legs will destroy them because of the weight
leading into painful complications that will kill it slowly and painfully

technically if you spend tens of thousands of dollars on top surgery you might be able to heal the leg and allow the horse to survive but it will be useless athletically and performantly

Yes they do just not for racing etc
And you can make them do a full recovery but it requires absurd handholding time and cost, to most its just not worth it

The joke is that the girls are supposedly killed when they can't win specific races, because you didn't spend enough real money to support them, when in real life they just retire and move to a far away land where they live happily ever after.

this is easy to do with a crane
you can get by with a forklift and some straps, or just use the saddle if you don't have straps
most farms have tractors with fork attachments anyway
