However, our archipelagic nature is also our curse. Transportation and Utilities are far more expensive in the Philippines for being an archipelago compared to our neighbors who are singular landmasses.

In Vietnam or Thailand, you can easily connect a railway or road to the next city, the same goes for water pipes and electric poles. In the Philippines wherein the next city is often in another island; you can't build power lines, pipes, or railways to the next island when there's a motherfucking ocean between one city and the next. So naturally, travel and utilities will always be more expensive in the Philippine compared to mainland Southeast Asia.
