there is an ontological conflict
at the root of the Ukraine war, Russia's persistence and the West's defiance.

- The west believes the world remains in permanence, and Russia is the one disrupting their sacred "order" of things.
- But Russia and China believe that the world entered a phase of transformation, and the "order" is changing. And the change is not by someone's willing, it's natural and inevitable.

This stands at the root of the confrontation, really. If you distill everything down to the basics.

>Allow Russia into EU / NATO
the physics of geopolitics can't allow this
the moment Russia joins EU, it is not Brussels but Moscow that is the capital of EU
the moment Russia joins NATO, it is Moscow, not Washington that is the HQ of NATO.
All of this due to Russia just being too big and too geographically present in Europe (biggest population, 40% of Europe's landmass)

Letting Russia into EU and NATO is basically a shortcut to rebuilding the USSR

Yeah that's why westoids still think BRICS is trying and failing to be some kind of oriental NATO with perfect ideological alignment and not simply a parallel global economy made up of loosely associated countries trying to abandon the dollar.
They're stuck in the Cold War still.
