I dont know but does /pol/ know about the infestation of Chinese bot farms influencing foreign policy of the west via social media like TikTok, X (Twitter), 4chan etc?

Chinese bot farms are flooding Western social media with fake accounts, pushing narratives to sway foreign policy. These Chinese swarms spread misinfo, amplify division, and target key issues to nudge public opinion in their favor.

Known as "Spamouflage," these networks linked to China's Ministry of Public Security spam out AI-crafted propaganda, from deepfake videos to posts slamming U.S. democracy or stoking election chaos. They’ve targeted U.S. politicians, harassed anyone who don't agree with Chinese propaganda, and even posed as Americans to push anti-West vibes.

It is strange, China and Chinese propaganda rarely gets mentioned here or any other social media platform.

That’s tough. Mexico has a bunch of cartels, but India is a lot more corrupt
If I HAD to pick one, then India.

The Chinese bot farms also affected Canada Take the Spamouflage campaign in Canada, for example it pushed wild claims that Hawaii’s wildfires were caused by a secret U.S. military “weather weapon, although it was low engagement but was pushed by Chinese propaganda bots. They made it seem like tons of people back certain policies or candidates, which can sway public opinion and even affect elections. They also spread fake news, ramping up social divides and eroding trust in media and institutions.

Remember all those anti-Tradeu posts allover social media? Yeah

A 2024 report by Google blocked over 10,000 instances of Dragon Bridge (aka Spamouflage Dragon) activity in the first quarter, promoting narratives portraying the U.S. negatively and targeting elections in Taiwan and the Israel-Hamas war.

If you haven't noticed or been through the catalog, it's very difficult and rare to have a meaningful discourse on /pol/ anymore. Here's what agenda bots are doing not only on /pol/ but on various different social media platforms and the biggest one is Chinese bot farm:

1. Flooding with Noise: Trolls spam threads with irrelevant or inflammatory comments to drown out meaningful discussion. This buries legit voices and derails conversations for example /pol/, TikTok & X

2. Impersonation: Using fake accounts, they pose as locals (memeflags etc on /pol/ and fake accounts on TikTok which are set to private, facebook etc) to blend in and push divisive or misleading narratives with credibility.

3. Amplification: Co-ordinate Immediate replies on /pol/ threads made my memeflags or other flags via co-ordination on discord, telegram etc. to boost the thread artifically. Mass-like/ retweet on X etc.

4. Polarization: They post extreme, emotionally charged content to inflame divisions, pitting groups against each other to destabilize unity.

5. Disinfo Spread: Trolls share fabricated stories, deepfakes, or half-truths - example 70% of threads on /pol/

6. Deflection: When challenged, trolls/bots pivot to whataboutism or unrelated hot-button issues to dodge accountability and muddy the waters. Several examples within this thread itself.

There would be more but that's all I can think of now.

Neither. Both are as worse as it seems. Next question.
