Police deal with killers all the time but they are rarely singled out for intimidation because the criminal element of this country has learned that doing this isn't worth the retaliatory response that will occur. When there actually is a specific and credible threat of targeted intimidation and reprisal the police DO wear masks during the operation in question. I know you want to pretend that no one has ever seen pictures of SWAT officers conducting drug raids and counterterrorism raids wearing ski masks, but no one hear is going to fall for your gaslighting.
