America is a gathering of micronations.
Immigrants will go to their respective cultural community. Italians will go to a little Italy, Chinese to Chinatown, Hungarians to little Hungary.
Full integration is something that happens with second and third generation descendants of immigrants after they've been run through college and become part of some government bankrolled apparatus.
Some communities will be able to perpetuate their culture indefinitely because there are culturally relevant businesses that persist. Not to food meme but Italian/Jewish delis, Chinese restaurants, etc. that exist in the true private sector and can be passed on generationally.
Or people simply become trapped in those micronations without education and impetus to escape.

I grew up in the integrated South and racism is against my religion as a Muslim. I don't find it hard to live with people of different races as I have done so my entire life and have family of different races.
