They're all like that. They know nothing and then later when something becomes hip they're suddenly armchair experts with zero actual real life experience in it.
That's why I call it performative.

There were a lot of things wrong with the world and hipsters spent their day ignoring it all, pretending that this wasn't going on, that you can just stomp clap and sing hey to simple craft beer music.
