My brother was and is a hipster.
Its all just him chasing trends and pretending he's found some new authentic experience or item.
He one time got a case of sampler whiskey from an older guy he knows through his work.
Now hes suddenly a master class in whiskey despite just the time prior to getting that sampler pack telling me how gross whiskey is when I brought some out at a bonfire at my house. And yet! He hasn't drank any if it, he has it displayed on a shelf...
They're all like that. They know nothing and then later when something becomes hip they're suddenly armchair experts with zero actual real life experience in it.
That's why I call it performative.
If they lived like they claim, I could respect em more, but they're just fake and uninteresting people. They'll tie you up for hours talking about nothing, all performing and then next time you see em they're into the next consoomer item.
