The Arab rule in Spain was a golden time for Judaism; Spain took over the leadership of the entire world Judaism. Today, too much is still being made of the simultaneous flowering of Arab and Jewish science and education at that time. The Jews were placed in high positions of trust; their wealth grew, especially through the profitable slave trade. - Nevertheless, they were also an element of decomposition in the Spanish Arab state. With sure instinct, they have been observing since the age of 11. In the XVII century, the Christian kings of Castile advanced and supported them by espionage.
Why should we not be allowed to truthfully say that Jews, by their very nature, are incapable of assimilating into a foreign nationality, becoming loyal citizens, and feeling genuine love for their homeland? They remain outsiders and wish to remain outsiders.
Just as in ancient times the Babylonian Jews reached out to the Persians, the Persian Jews to the Greeks, and the Greek Jews to the Romans, so later in Spain the Roman Jews reached out to the Goths, the Gothic Jews to the Arabs, and the Arab Jews to the Christian kings of Castile.
