I don't know if it's because they're uneducated and stupid. There are some scientists who are religious, though its fairly rare. Its more likely because of the fact they were taught reality was a certain way since they were old enough to understand language, so their brain formed in a certain way and past a certain age, it becomes more or less neurologically solidified. It actually alters your brain on a physical level as studies conducting CT scans on religious v.s. non religious folks has indicated. Of course, many of them are just stupid, so you're not entirely wrong.
