I did. I had a couple hundred bitcoins in MtGox when it went down. I was using them to buy weed through Silk Road.

I got a class action settlement check for 2 dollars and change.

If you could afford instant ramen back then, then you could also afford BTC. it was worth nothing because nobody thought it would ever be worth anything. A lot of people made bank with wallets stored on old flash drives they'd forgotten about. They'll never acknowledge they were lucky as fuck and now some kind of super genius that foresaw the insane BTC prices 25 years later.

I had some bitcoin from around 2010 in a wallet I lost. But even if I hadn't lost it I wouldn't be rich because I surely would have used it or cashed out long before it was worth anything approaching what it's worth now. There is no timeline where I played that shit perfectly deliberately. Same with the nvidia I was trading back in the early 2000s. That shit would have been cashed out the first time it spiked past $30 in like 2007.

kek, same
also found out about the class action thing when it was already beyond the sign up date, not that i'd have any receipts proving that i had balance there either

but i figured theyd just give you a fraction of the monetary amount *at that time* anyway as there'd be no fucking way they'd be able to cover their liabilities

which induces more pleasure:
> a $200,000 vacation
> posting about the vacation to social media
it is undoubtedly the latter.

which is great news for fans of pleasure, since posting to social media and getting likes is free.
it is like a $200,000 vacation in your mind...

This is the reason why I thought it'd never be a thing.
At the very latest when the Feds shut down Silk Road I was sure it was going to be banned by the govts because why wouldn't it be, there is literally no upside to it existing for the govts the only use for it was buying drugs and other illegal shit, and even today its mostly used for money laundering and tax evasion.
Of course should have realised that govts are incompetent and almost never do what is rational, and also trust that they are so slow to move they wouldnt do shit about it like they didnt until it became big enough for all sorts of investors and then lobbyists to get involved and at that point it became 'too big to fail'

Can you actually cash out Bitcoin?

It's a pump and dump scheme by the inner circle. They hype it up until the prices go high then sell. The crash spooks people and they also sell. They buy the dip then the process starts all over again
