It's the nitrates and other preservatives. Any sausage or hotdog with nitrates or preservatives kills gut bacteria and leads to ass cancer. Stopping bacteria growth is the purpose of preservatives and it does the same thing in your gut as it does on the shelf. You can buy hotdogs and sausages without nitrates.

Been going to Costco my entire life or as long as I can remember. I remember my family hoarding food for Y2K hysteria at Costco. Never once have I eat a hotdog.
