Here they don't go near people. We've only had one bear attack in the last 30-40 years. And it was in a park called "Bear Park", the women had some injuries but she was fine overall.

Personally I've never seen a bear here and I've hiked all over the country. Used to even map trails for other hikers.

Female bears have a habit of keeping their cubs near human settlements due to easier access to scraps and the fact that most aminals don't kike the sounds of human talking. Humans=scary situations and potential death in most cases. Male bears are then less likely to approach and kill her cubs so he can force her back into heat, all the while cubs get tasty garbage snacks.
Then they get habitualized to human presence and no longer have that natural fear, resulting in more attacks than fleeing.
If they let the mom live, you would have two to four man-eaters on the loose instead of one mauler. This would get them all, al their descendants who follow that pattern shot.
It's for the best. It's low level eugenics.

Depends on where your at. Black bears in Tennessee come in close contact with people so the odds of an attack are higher. That being said attacks are not that common. I don't know if it's because black bears are less likely to be niggers because of their temperament, or if they have just learned to coexist by actively avoiding people instead of acting on instinct.
This would be completely different in places where bears aren't around humans as much. In general black bears are known to attack less, but I honestly believe it depends on their environment.

Apparently, the way to fight a bear is to shove your whole arm down its throat and try to grab something to hold onto. The bear will be in extreme discomfort and shock, and if you can keep a good hold, it will suffocate, but if not then it will shake you off it and run.

Chances are high that its teeth will cut and artery, or its claws will do some damage before you manage it, but it's better than nothing.
