I agree with what you're saying but people should have access to these dogs at all because they shouldn't exist. There's nothing a Pitbull can provide that other dogs cannot, they were bred to rip each other to shreds and most people only want them because of that (or because they look scary) or because they want to virtue-signal about how good they are for adopting a rightfully ostracised breed. If someone wanted a family dog there's hundreds of suitable breeds; if they were concerned with protection, they'd get a Dobermann or German Shepherd; if they wanted to virtue-signal by adopting an unpopular breed, unironically Chihuahuas are a good choice. We engineered these dogs to kill and to want to maul as much as a Labrador wants to retrieve. It's not really the dog's fault since it's in their blood but it's not safe or beneficial to have them around full stop. The best and honestly most compassionate thing to do is TPD rather than try to pretend that these dogs are family friendly pets meant for the average home.
