They use plenty of older ballistics and cruise missiles, which the Patriot can easily shoot down, but are again available in much larger numbers than Patriot missiles.

The main problem is that Patriot was never designed for a defensive war that lasts years. Stockpiles just don't last. It was meant to protect you for a week, which should be enough for NATO to BTFO the enemy and destroy their ability to strike you.

But yes, Rheinmetall and others are trying to roll out similar weapons in Ukraine to defend at least manufacturing facilities and important strategic sites.
