There are no full spectrum LED bulbs. A Japanese brand named Soraa has better reds and purples than most, thanks to some patents. I think you can get them on Amazon. But the best would be to find some halogen bulbs.

When I walk into a home depot or lowes, I dunno what kind of lights they use. But I swear to god I can see the flickering (strobing?). I get nausea and dizzy in there for longer than 30 minutes. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? This also happens to me in big warehouse stores like the super walmarts, etc.. I wonder what lights they use and what hz they pulse at. From my understanding what makes them efficient is they turn on and off faster than what our eyes can see, supposedly. I think I can definitely tell.

The typical white LEDs are pretty far off a real black body spectrum. It's a bright blue spike from the LED, and the phosphor converting some of the the blue to the green to red colors.

I don't think it makes a difference in terms of keeping you awake. But won't create true color representation of all objects.

>you can get the same warmness with leds
light quality is still extremely important. LED makes everything look flat and sick even with high CRI bulbs. The way the beam shines is very directional as well. Incandescence is omnidirectional. Its not just the color that matters. Its extremely important in the factor but its not everything.
Ill still never accept that theyre better for the enviornment
LED
>plastic
>aluminum base
>chink circuit board that never has anything worth salvaging
>overheats and self destructs
>more ewaste for landfills
traditional bulb
>glass
>aluminum
>tungsten wire
The LED itsself can last years on end but hardly anyone is making a bulb that has the heat problem fixed. I only use soft white incandescents in my home and incandescent bug lamps for relaxation areas and i change maybe 2/3 a year. Its hardly anything i would consider to be a nuisance.

That pic looks soviet. It's yellow, orange...sure its a little easier on the eyes but visibility is ass.

Our parking lot just got a major upgrade, we have bright ass white LED's, homeless hate them because it lights everything up and is visible to police from the main road now if there are cars parked after hours in corners or whatever.

You can see more detail and better lit up than LED's. It's called blinds, and blackout curtains. I would take saftey and visibility over some old orange lights that take 10x the electricity in this economy.

Also, LED's have a range of warmth. IDK what the pic means, but my bulbs are LED & I have them soft yellow because blue lights indoors hurt my eyes. Same price. Better light bills, and not burning out or a fire hazard

it's fucking up the bugs also.
bugs were already grossly attracted to light in general, but LEDs have them swarming all night long instead of doing their natural insect shit and it's fucking up a lot of our ecosystems.
bats also can not stand those lights and actively avoid them so we have less diversity that way also.

the real answer is it depends on the room. they'll also all have recessed tract lighting with dimmers but then some free standing or desk lamps

I hate that shit so much. I have a normal car too so my mirrors are right at the same level as the headlights on all the landboat crossovers, SUVs, and jacked up pickups every other person drives now. Then these mongoloids have the audacity to complain about money problems when they're financing luxury vehicles off the lot every other year on $35,000/yr. Like maybe if your car payments are the same as your rent you should rethink your buying strategy.

Honestly using temperature to talk about light is beyond retarded.
I know where the idea comes from and it only makes it worse.

Color temperature is completely meaningless if not talking about incandescent light sources. The emission spectrum is two dimensional (wavelength vs amplitude). It only makes sense to express this as a one dimensional temperature only makes sense given the implement assumption that the source itself approximates black body radiation.
TL/DR color temperatures given for LED and florescent sources are pure unadulterated bullshit.

what's ridiculous about it? you've never walked into a restroom and seen yourself in the mirror with a florescent light in your face and noticed how ghastly you look? That's a modern thing, it was all warm light up until about 50 years ago.

I love warm lights.
Best kind was oil lamps, I loved those so much.

When we'd gather with my cousins at the village house there would be 30-50 of us, it was often too, and the adult's in the evening would make tons od deserts, fruit fruit trays full of fruit and cheeses, meats and bake a ton of pumpkin and sunflower seeds... make tea, pudding cups, hommade and rice pudding, a lot of rice pudding, the room were very very large, we would all sit against the wall in a big circle, children wed sometimes sit in rhe uge hall next door in a circle and we would have oil lamps on and shut off rhe electricity because it was so cozy, wed play chess and card and drums and tamboreenes, flutes and sing.

Warm lights make cozy rooms and put people in a good mood.

its not about how well you or a donut eating piglet can see. it's about preserving a thing called "the night", reduce light pollution, letting the rest of nature live normally, etc. HID lights or other tech are fine. LEDs with the unavoidable blue pump in their spectrum truly fuck up circadian rythms
