>>509633472"Remigraton" isn't just "pushing a few people out" . It's a long lasting political policy that ensures people WANT to move away (and DON'T return). This was never the case for Burma and Fiji. It was only the case for a short period of time for Uganda (until their economy collapsed).
There's no country which had any kind of successful remigration policy as of today in history.
>In the mid-1950s, there were an estimated 700,000 to 800,000 Burmese Indians. Following the 1962 coup and subsequent nationalization policies, many were forced to leave, with over 300,000 ethnic Indians emigrating, according to Wikipedia. Today, people of Indian origin constitute about 4% of Myanmar's population, though this number may be higher due to lack of credible census data And guess what Indians are running key companies and power structures in Burma today
> Several companies in Myanmar have Indian CEOs. A notable example is Ooredoo MyanmarMore extreme in Fiji where less than 5% are ran/owned by the locals and 95% by Indo-Fijians.
