A much better sound que that something isn't right is likely your sub's hull making popcorn noises the entire journey.

Boeing sold them the carbon fiber at a discount because it was a bad batch and they didn't think it was safe to use in aircraft. Rush thought this was a great deal and apparently didn't consider the fact that a submarine experiences much greater forces than an aircraft.

This

Literally all they had to do was make everything out of metal

Steel works just fine if you can’t afford titanium, titanium is barely stronger than steel at room temperature (it was used on the blackbird because it flies so fast it’s almost red hot in normal flight, at those temperatures titanium is a lot sturdier than steel due to titanium's higher melting point)

Yea they pretty much did. A usual dive would have popping, micro cracking sounds but to them that was "normal".. It wasn't fucking normal. The shit was getting micro cracks and micro delaminations, and I think it was 3 dives prior they heard a really large thump. That's why the whole hull listening thing that detected faliure was pointless, the shit always popped and cracked so you can't tell which pop or crack was meaningful, it was just a steady process of weakening the hull that was the real issue. They were a bunch of retarded monkeys that couldn't even tell that their sub was breaking everytime they went down.

As I understand it, the system actually worked, giving exactly the signal of delamination they were looking for, on the very last ascent. They just ignored it.

That's what always amazes me about that company. They built this deathtrap of a sub with a design that was obviously going to have a finite lifespan, which was stupid, then they didn't do the required Don't Die 101 stuff like diving/ascending a prototype until it failed then setting the service life to half of that many dives, which was very stupid, and instead of testing they slapped these Mickey Mouse sensors on the hull in the hopes that it would happen to warn them in time to get out of the crush zone, which is staggeringly stupid. But then when they had the sheer incredible dumb luck of those sensors giving them exactly the STOP NOW signal they were looking for in exactly the time where it should've saved everyone's lives, they said "huh, that's weird" and dove to their stupid stupid stupid deaths

They never made that information public, the reason why is because it's useless. They can't tell one pop or crack from another, how do you determine if taht one pop or crack is just noise or not noise. That's why they won't release it.
Because it would most likely show that ever since the first dive you had these pops and cracks, then a very loud thump 3 dives prior.
What that shows is that the entire time, the thing was breaking slowly and steadily.

From what I remember, on the last ascent they got exactly the extended sort of sound, rather than percussive pops or cracks, that would be a section of CF separating from its surrounding layers, aka "STOP NOW"
And then looking at exactly precisely the warning sign that retarded system, had been designed to detect even though that was a retarded excuse for a safety net in the world's most extreme engineering environment when the consequences for any serious failure is instant death, they said "lol well the sub makes all kinds of sounds!" and went off to die

From what I know all we have is testimony from prior passenters. the RTM system is proprietary and they never publicly made it accessible for examination, they also never released the RTM data itself which , in my guess. Show that ever since the very first dive, the varying degrees of pops and cracks were the hull basically slowly breaking down, what Oceangate probably thought was that it was just noise.
This is why they probably won't release how their RTM system works, or the data. In hindsight they now know the hull was breaking, and with that , it opens up a whole other area of being legally liable.

They violated like 10 different design principles that you’re supposed to follow for a submersible that goes that deep. It wasn’t the right shape, it wasn’t made of the right materials. They ignored warning signs which suggested that the carbon fiber hull was weakening with each cycle. Their design worked for a few trips, but it wasn’t durable. Their own tests showed that the hull was degrading and they ignored it because they were greedy and had a lot of hubris.

They were going to see the wreckage of the Titanic which is a big no-no because it's one of the scams that the Jews got away with a long time ago.

If the wreckage was actually observed and found to be what many people theorize (actually the Olympic swapped after hull damage from colliding with the RMS Hawke), then it was intentional and known. This is also supported by tracking the travel logs and seeing that it never went past 50% cruising speed, suggesting the captain knew the hull wasn't factory fresh.

So it served as both an insurance scam by the White Star Line (owned by JP Morgan) and also the way to remove all the opposition to the creation of the Fed. The three wealthiest men who opposed it all died on the Titanic (Astor, Strauss, and Gugenheim). Meanwhile JP Morgan and his friends conveniently cancelled the maiden voyage last minute. Sound familiar to the Jews not showing up to work in WTC on 9-11?

The Titanic sank in 1912. The Fed was passed uncontested a year later.

literally the only answer is "Stockton Rush was a delusional egomaniac who built a submarine out of carbon fiber despite it being well known that this was unsafe and GUARANTEED to eventually implode, and literally everyone telling him that, repeatedly"

Rush is SOLELY to blame, end of story, there's no mystery to this at all, the thing everyone said was guaranteed to eventually happen did in fact happen

Carbon fiber is a composite material. Not a homogenous material like steel or titanium. Plus pressure cycling. Meaning it probably won't break apart on the 1st or 2nd dive, but the 7th, 8th, and 9th etc fucks it.

Catastrophic failure of the pressure hull. I just found out that on Dive 87 the dive immediately before the fatal dive the titan had to abort a titanic dive and when they got back to the surface the platform for the titan was partially underwater and the titan sub was smashing up and down in the waves with the front dome being bashed against the platform which could have broke the glue seal. The next dive the hull failed with loss of all hands.

>Literally all they had to do was make everything out of metal
anything heavier than carbon fiber and it would have been prohibitively expensive

I think he said they spent like $1 million on fuel for the transport ship at one point, 90% of the cost was transporting the hull around

a metal sub requires a massive ship that has one of those huge cranes that can lift the heavy sub out of the water
not only did he not have that, he basically just towed the Titan sub behind the transport ship likely causing more damage and unnecessary fatigue

he couldn't even afford to properly store the carbon fiber hull and left it outdoors in freezing temperatures

weight was his biggest issue in terms of cost

There was no competition because you can’t make big tourists subs that can go that deep. The bigger the inside is the bigger the air bubble is and more strain you’re putting on the structure. i have no idea why they didn't go with titanium if they wanted light. hell, do the math to get minimum thickness needed for the depth and then add on a second pressure hull made out of carbon fiber, so you've got much carbon fiber plus it's still safe. then replace the second carbon fiber pressure hull when it eventually weakens after a couple of dives.
