America’s healthcare industry is so unbelievably evil.

In Canada, instead of paying a couple thousand that most can make in some weeks (or even a week) you have to wait a average of 7-12 months before you can even see the doctor, and your taxes pay for it so you're basically paying thousands and going late.

AMERICA IS GREAT!

Up until about 1970 it was genuinely focused on helping people and improving health outcomes.
Then the pharma companies got involved.
Then hotels started being run for profit.
Then the Clintons wrecked everything.
Then Obama made it worse.
And now here we are, with an extractive health care system hell-bent on wringing every dime from the patients and the government that it possibly can.
Yay, capitalism.

if your toddler needs to go the ER even ONCE, it means nature did not intend that they survive--either because the baby was too weak, or because you were an irresponsible parent.
in short, natural selection at work.
and if you want to oppose that, you should pay a high fee.
so i'm good with our healthcare system as it is.

Well we're paying thousands of dollars so Israelis don't have to and then paying thousands again whenever we need to go to the hospital. Is this the kind of great Trump wanted to make America?

There should be lighter healthcare regulations. It should be like dentistry where there are little practices all over the place. Have all of these little places that could diagnose illnesses/conditions, give advice, prescribe medication, and treat wounds. That's 99% of what people need doctors for in a nutshell. Leave big hospitals just to do surgeries and other really major stuff.

Notice how they only show the amount billed and not the amount owed.

Think of US healthcare billing like a store having a sale. They'll market the original price (amount billed) as $7000 then tell you that you only owe $200 after insurance adjustments.

My wife had a surgery in April. The billed amount was $74,000. After insurance we owed $900.

My mom was in British Columbia and had a back injury that left her paralyzed. The BC health ministry said it would cost 80k to fly her home and at first they weren't willing to pay so we had to if she ever wanted to get back to Ontario again. In the end the bean counters decided having her occupy a bed in BC for the rest of her life would cost more than that so they flew her back even as we tried to find an alternate way to get her home and billed us 9k for it even though we never consented to it. And that's not even the worst treatment she got in the last two years from these clowns. You want nothing to do with this shit and anyone who says otherwise has never needed the healthcare system for more than a few stiches or a sick note.

amberlamps are privately run outside the hospital so they can charge what they want. That's not "healthcare".
The diagnostic services are pretty reasonably priced. Imaging scans use expensive equipment that needs maintenance.
The only egregious thing is the observation charge and ER visit charges. The ER visit charges are them offsetting illegals and uninsured using the ER for everything under the sun and you paying $1000s sitting in a hospital bed white nurses play on their phone is ridiculous. they need that money to pay for their HR, local lobbying group, and the army of administrators and lower management to manage other people that aren't needed.

Love my Ameribros, but it is absurd to argue your medical system is not failed. It is the leading cause of bankruptcy for Americans by a long shot - Medical debt. You have the greatest hospitals in the world, but Canada's life expectancy is 5 years more than the US (83 vs 78) ... how does that make sense if the care is so superior.

If you are getting a hip replacement you are going to wait months, but any urgent care is instant. My family has had broken bones, stiches, fibroid surgery, baby born with fluid on lungs in neonatal care, stomach issues, intestine issues, tonsils, etc. ... all free. Not to mention we are geographically larger than the US and 1/10th the population. Based on economies of scale the US system should be much superior.

It does need more deregulation as technology progresses. Technology is unironically keeping it going. There are so many things that are outpatient now. My grand father had a fucking outpatient hip replacement. 15 years ago that would've been inpatient surgery with a multi day hospital stay. Lot's of procedures and recovery are getting much cheaper, but like universities these days, they use the extra revenue to expand and hire non-critical roles instead of passing lower costs to consumers.

Except it isn’t. You can’t file bankruptcy on medical debt. Everything you said is from a liberal propaganda post everybody pushed around in freshman year of college. Ten times the population = ten times the expense and bureaucratic management. If only we elected the people who never give us universal healthcare and promise to but instead use their political clout to kill white people
Anonymous (ID: AFG1a0E4) United States No.509742835 [Report]
>Why can't we just have universal healthcare like every other developed nation on Earth?
DEREGULATE THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY SO THEY CAN FUCK US HARDER
Anonymous (ID: W+5D3tjK) United States No.509743881 [Report]
It genuinely, unironically, is just that any politician who wants to genuinely unfuck the US system would be bankrupting a large portion of the largest sector of the US economy, and even if it would be a massive good for the average person, none of them are willing to do that. Anyone who did would have their entire party blacklisted by medical lobbyists.

Trump could save unironically billions of lives on his way out by doing this without regard for what rich Jews in New York think, but he won't.
