One possible upside from this is that individuals who were blackmailed through Epstein may no longer be vulnerable to that leverage, at least in any way that carries legal consequences, because the Department of Justice has declared the material in question to be inauthentic. This is particularly relevant now that AI has advanced to the point where any compromising release can plausibly be dismissed as artificially generated. If many influential people suddenly find themselves effectively freed from Epstein-related blackmail, the consequences could be unpredictable. This could even lead to positive outcomes, and or very unpredictable outcomes. That said, I recognize this premise is rather naïve.

You have to be an absolutely naive fool if you genuinely believe that Mossad or whoever sits on that stash of footage etc. wouldn't be able to use it to blackmail the people in it.
Even if it were to be deemed inadmissible in court, leaking something like that would still ruin that individual.

This could be true now. What also could be true is that Trump raped kids on Epstein's Island and this was the only way for him to be free of the blackmail, and at the same time making everyone else who was being blackmailed free.

It could also be that there is more blackmail, other leverage or allegiance that will just keep things as they usually have been more or less. (I personally have the most confidence in this sadly)

This ties in to a bigger hypothetical.

If a lot of "good guys" or just neutral players were blackmailed, and the only blackmail that available on them is from Epstein, then we could potentially see a lot of changes in the near future.

If they deny the list exists, they let everyone on it know they will be safe if they play ball. That's a lot cheaper and much faster than getting a whole new crop of politicians and blackmailing them. Legislatures get to pass spending bills which is the same as getting to issue currency for your state and personal projects any time you can gather enough signatures from Representatives, Senators and the President. This is why there is a constant fight over spending bills. It's an infinite print cheat code in real life. This is why the top of the pyramid works so hard to control central banking, news, education and entertainment.

I agree that this is most likely happening, but even if it is, my hypothetical still holds.
If the threshold for convincing video or photographic evidence is permanently eroded by AI, then blackmail becomes much harder to enforce or weaponize. This will also be true for the Epstein blackmail. Its inevitable that it happens with AI as well.

If most or all of it is inadmissible it will only be valuable if it isn't released. A convincing fake can still ruin a career as can the real thing, whether a court wants to touch it or not. Look for politicians going off script to see if they think this is a big deal.

Its a potential outcome. It depends on how the world reacts to faked AI photos and videos becoming super accessible and indistinguishable from the real thing, and it also depends on what the people who are/were blackmailed will do. A couple (preferably high profile) court cases to set precedent for fabricated AI evidence is also needed for this hole hypothetical to actually work.
