One possible upside from this is that individuals who were blackmailed through Epstein may no longer be vulnerable to that leverage, at least in any way that carries legal consequences, because the Department of Justice has declared the material in question to be inauthentic. This is particularly relevant now that AI has advanced to the point where any compromising release can plausibly be dismissed as artificially generated. If many influential people suddenly find themselves effectively freed from Epstein-related blackmail, the consequences could be unpredictable. This could even lead to positive outcomes, and or very unpredictable outcomes. That said, I recognize this premise is rather naïve.
